Fahys Bar & Restaraunt

Very disappointing. The food was extremely over cooked. Had the two specials, turkey and ham and, the roast beef. The boiled vegetables were mushy and the meat was very hard, potentially left in the oven for an extra hour or two. Not recommended.

Decent food, very bad service. Here is our experience. We came here around 7PM and they were busy, but we got seated right away. For half an hour no one paid any attention to us. That would have been OK, but at that time another couple came in, got seated right next to us, got their order taken, got their food… still no attention to us, didn’t even bring water like they did for all other tables, didn’t take a drink order. At some point I got up and got a beer at the bar. About 40 minutes after we got seated, a waiter stopped by and said that someone will take our order in several minutes. About an hour after we came in, our order was taken. Some time later I walked up to the bar again and asked for a beer. Our waiter was at the bar at the time and as she was pouring my beer, she sad I can go back to the table and she will bring the beer down… She never brought it to our table and so I never got that second beer even though I saw her pour it right in front of me and was ready to take it myself. If before I thought they were just busy, this seemed like a deliberate insult. An hour after our order was taken we were still waiting for the soup even though it was sitting in a big pot next to the bar and one could have eaten the whole pot in the time it took them to pour two bowls. After about two hours at the restaurant, having finished the soup, we realized we better get going, because it was close to 9PM and we had another hour to drive. We did not order anything that had to be cooked to order — a soup and a salad with smoked fish and in two hours we still didn’t get it. Meanwhile the people who came half an hour after us were finishing their dessert. The soup was OK, but oversalted, the salad in a box was good. Service — I have not been so badly ignored in any restaurant anywhere in the world.

We stopped into Fahy’s for a pub while on a recent 12 hour bus tour of Ireland. The place was quiet yet full of people. Definitely different from what we are used to. The food looked good and most people were in there eating. The staff was super friendly. The bathrooms were clean!!!
I wish we had a little longer in Cashel so that we could have had a bite to eat in addition to our pints!!!

Good pub food. Roast beef special hit the spot.

Dropped in there, nice bar, very clean and food looked delicious.
Look forward going back there again for the food.
