Avoca café was recommended by a couple of people and we decided to come to the one in Avoca village. The shop is lovely with their own handwoven blankets. And their food section was fab. We got some chocolate which was divine. The café itself was good too. Basic café food but all tasty & huge portions.

Avoca’s café was one of my favorite experiences of the trip. The mill is located in one of the prettiest areas and the mill tour was quite interesting and timely. The. Café has soups sandwiches and scones with real English cream and preserves to die for! The mill shop is worth perusing and the gardens and grounds are ripe for photo opportunities. Really loved this gem of a place.

I find this place to be awesome if you have a great camera. Avoca is a beautiful, beautiful area. However, I really don’t feel like there’s much else there. The Avoca mill basically sums up everything. I took some photos, but this area doesn’t seem like a «must-go”/must-see.

The original of the species — that’s the Avoca Wollen Mills, shop and Café in the gorgeous village of Avoca Co. Wicklow. It was here it all began and now there are several Avoca stores around the country and in the greater Dublin area. It is well worth a visit here to see an actual woollen mill in operation and see how they produce the fabulously colourful throws, blankets, coats scarves etc etc that are all produced here. In fact now is a very good time to go as they have an amazing sale of up to 70% off on a wide range of clothes, household goods etc. But whatever you do, please make time to visit the really lovely, airy and bright Café and sample some of the delicious freshly prepared breads, scones, soups, not to mention the mouthwatering cakes tarts and all things sweet and delicious — all of which are made on the premises. Lovely friendly staff and it’s not a bit touristy this time of year so go on, go on, go on and see for yourself!

A lovely café with great views of the gardens, excellent food and friendly staff. Perfect to relax after a walk through the gardens or just to enjoy the food /atmosphere. I had the autumnal version of their Super Food Salad with roasted pumkin, lots of seed and sprouts. Loved it, especially the pomegranate in it. They lost one star due to the fact that a 10% service charge gets automatically added to your bill. Even for just two people. I would’ve have given at least that as a tip anyhow, but being forced to pay it I insisted in getting back my change. Friends who had something in the café before we went into the gardens hadn’t realised the 10% on their bill and given tip in addition. They weren’t happy to find out.

We stopped here for a short break on the way to Glendalough. The Wild Wicklow Tour gave us a chance to get a bite to eat and also shop before continuing our way to the monastery ruins and lakes. I was impressed with the size of this establishment. There was quite a bit of food and beverage choices including coffees and scones along with full meals. The shopping area was large as well with an assortment of just about anything you might be looking for. The grounds were immaculate. We ate outside at one of their tables overlooking fresh flowers and lawns. This is a very well looked after business.

It is a very unusual shop with beautiful items. A mixture of clothes, accessories, food, porcelaine and decoration items for the whole family. It’s all made in Avoca itself and you can even watch the weaving! Very peaceful place with a nice café!

What a great little café with a good selection of food. The staff were lovely and I sat outside in the sun although it was January. I had the best Duck pâté that I have EVER had. The hot chocolate came with the little marshmallows AND with a stick of flake. Pure Heaven.
