School buses. The school bus system at CUHK has got to be the worst. Students have around 15 minutes between classes and they still need to go line up and wait for the school bus to take them to the designated lecture rooms. In fact, running with our books while catching our breath is no stranger to lots of CUHK students. And I have to say that one staircase on the side of the library is famous for students to fall off during those times, and it is commonly known as the«PK stairway». There are over 7 libraries at CUHK and the Main Library has got to be the most packed one in all times. Before the expansion, though the library itself was fairly big, comprised of 5 floors, still during exam seasons, you could never find an empty table or chair. Now with the new wing, the surprisingly stylish design definitely makes it more spacious to cater for students’ need; but it does not really go with the old wing in my opinion. Anyway, if you have been there, you will know what I mean. One fun fact: have you ever passed through«The Arch»? I mean the sculpture in front of the Chinese University Main Library. There have been rumors saying that one cannot graduate if he or she has walked under it before. Therefore, it is now called«Gate of Wisdom»; but I still doubt if anyone is going to walk through it. But if you did, it is believed that you can just fall off at the PK Stairway and you will be fine, well, maybe not physically.
