If I lived around here, I’d come here often. Taste has a nice variety of western and eastern produce and products. The décor is beautiful and the facilities are clean. I only bought snacks here but prices seem pretty decent, even with the imported products. The layout of the supermarket isn’t cramped or cluttered. It’s generally organized and well-lighted.

Taste is a considered a higher-end grocery store. It’s a bit more pricey than say ParkNShop and Wellcome, but it does offer a wider range and higher quality of goods. They import a lot of international products here, so it’s the place to grocery shop if your looking for a more specific item.

I used to go here a lot when I stayed in the Kowloon Tong area, and I love the variety that this supermarket has. Even though it offers more international products and it’s commonly seen as a higher end supermarket, the prices aren’t necessarily high end prices. I’ve actually found their prices to be comparable to normal supermarkets. I love that they have a massive bakery section in the front that offers fresh baked goods. If you go after a certain time(I believe it’s 6pm), all of the baked goods are discounted! Additionally, they have a cooked food section where you can find common Chinese dishes such as roast pork, BBQ pork, soya chicken, sweet and sour pork, curry chicken wings, etc. There is a sandwich, cheese, and cold cuts section also! Lastly, there is a Japanese food section that offers sashimi, sushi, and a variety of other things. Another thing that I love about this Taste is that it is pretty much the first thing you see when you enter Festival Walk from the MTR station. There is no need to go outside or up lots of floors. All in all, Taste is a conveniently located, reasonably priced supermarket that offers a wide variety of products that should satisfy just about everybody.

When I had a temp stay in Kowloon, I struggled with the supermarket options. I need imported cheese, quality wine, granola, ale beer, herbs… blah blah blah. And obviously none of this can be fulfilled by ParknShop, neither does Welcome. Marketplace is also out of reach in the neighbourhood. First, A. S Watson is included, thanks to enormous Cheung Kong Group. Drinkable wine occupies the shelf. Of course, if you are having some guests, skip the wine session here and go to Enoteca wine specialty. They provide a wide range of ready-made food for on-the-go busy local bees. Pizza with more than four choices(salami, mushroom, hawaii…), sliced and wrapped. Caesar Salad, Veggie Salad, BLT sandwich, Chicken wrap etc. compensates as a little western kitchen. The Chinese session packed barbecue meal box, marinated snacks, sweet sour chicken dishes. Sushi is sold by pieces. Their fruit category and source is among high level. Malaysian dragon fruit, Brazilian fig, Japanese strawberries etc. are at one glance. The bakery made whole wheat loaf, baguette, okayish croissant that saved my craving for European pastry. For cake lovers, there is also an Italian Tomato counter. Easy pick for friend or family’s birthday day. Also feel free to choose a slice for some coffee. Cream cake with strawberry anyone?

A deluxe grocery superstore located within the Festival Walk, right above the entrance of the Kowloon Tong metro(MTR) station, it features chef-prepared entrees, specialty baked goods, imported cheese and chocolate etc. Wide selections of meat and seafood, sushi and other fresh goods like fruit. Products are of higher quality and price but definitely affordable. Not very extensive wine collection but you will find some new exclusive European and Japanese products from time to time. It has really huge floor space(considering this is HK) but could be crowded during rush hours. Overall it is a pretty good grocery store for your daily macro needs if you are living nearby.
