Tang Tang Tang Tang is like Shanghai Tang’s younger, cool, hip sister who gives great gifts and has a cool house. It is the only Tang Tang Tang Tang on the planet! Sir David did good! Although they do have some clothing(like fun animals of the zodiac silk pajamas and some solid color tees), their clothing is limited. This store is about the home and the accessories. Some totes and bags, umbrellas and shower curtains, cufflinks and picture frames, wallets and place settings. They do not seem to have a vast amount of product, but what they have is good quality stuff. It appears they are having a summer promotion or maybe just a promotion(week to week) on like six items. Ask about the items(which were on display in the front) and they alone are like 50% plus off. We bought a cute, full size umbrella, normally like $ 280HKD, for $ 100HKD. I also got some colorful, bright cotton handkerchiefs(great stylish, upscale gifts) on just regular sale for like $ 240HKD. Allen and Zoe who were working in the store were down to eart and friendly. If you are familiar with the Shanghi Tang brand, this will be some place you would want to stop in. Even if you strike out on a purchase, Tang Tang Tang Tang is located on the groundfloor of a beautifully restored Pawn Shop building that has been in the area for 100 years or so and it is worthy of a stop by for this reason along. Ask the staff about about the original safe and the portion of the staircase that they have kept and are located in the back. Also, a tid bit, Sir David also owns and operates a cigar bar around the corner that is in a historically preserved building.

I am no fashion guy; not knowing a single thing bout it, not wanting to nor have the interest to. Yet Shanghai Tang is such a loud name that even a fashion illiterate like me have heard of this name. Taking up the original pawn shop opposite to Southorn playground, Shanghai tang has transformed this historical building into its another branch. The exterior has maintained it’s original looks but have refurnished; walking into the shop and you will see traces of the history of the architecture. The vintage style tiles on the floor, the staircases at the corner, although the content of the shop has been changed, but the walls are steeped with history. Other than the revitalization values of this shop, I am afraid I don’t have too much to review on this place. I have to admit I would not normally visit this kind of shops even when I walk passed it; only because I have taken part in the opening ceremony have I set foot into this shop. From the ceremony, from those who were invited to the ribbon cutting ceremony, you know that this place is for the beau monde and the celebs, for us peasants if we want clothes… there you go H&M and bossini…
