My grandma really likes coming here since it’s close, so I’ve been coming here for years now and then.
That being said, I always get nostalgic coming here, taking the escalator up and sharing a table with someone else in the morning.
My favorites are the shumai and egg rolls. I think they always get me egg rolls here since they know I like them– and they are long and come in a glass cup with a little doily or napkin. They’re filled with taro and are piping hot and I can’t eat too many (in front of my family) because it is too «yeet hay».
We got the chicken feet spare rib rice this time, which was very greasy, came with only 1 chicken foot and mostly rice and barely any soy sauce for the rice. However, the spareribs were good despite being oily.
I love turnip cake and they like water chestnut cake as well, and while I don’t prefer the latter, it was actually pretty good and not too sweet here.
We also got cheong fun and a chicken bundle, which were ok. Porridge is also ok and quite plain.
The food here is ok to good, depending on what you get. I remember seeing some sa yong or Chinese sugared donut here, but I’ll order that next time.
Price-​wise, it is cheap. Not gonna lie. I enjoy the walk here with my grandma and I think the food is made better with good company, so I hope I can continue coming here a lot.
