Shirokiya is your typical izakaya joint, serving yakitori, karaage, sashimi, and lest we forget, sushi. We stumbled to this place because we didn’t know where else to eat in MegaBox and after traversing in IKEA, we didn’t want to just eat mini hotdogs. We arrived around 2pm, were promptly seated, and given the lunch time set menu. I didn’t know what to pick because I was already so hungry so I just went straight up for two okonomiyaki — my favorite Japanese comfort food. It was a bit too sweet but still savory, however I preferred Watami’s(albeit smaller) version of it. My companions had the fried rice with what looked to be a bit of crab meat and eel. We didn’t try the sushi and sashimi as we could have tasted that elsewhere. The restaurant was clean and sparse — it looked like it could fit in well over a 100 diners. The interior is mostly well-lit with evenly-placed tables. Service was prompt — there were only about eight people when we dined there — but the waiters look a little bit tired and worn-out(busy morning, perhaps?). Note to self: research dining establishments in MegaBox before going there
