Sense Of Touch

Sense of Touch is a pretty well-​known day spa in Hong Kong. Most of my friends and I would go to the Lan Kwai Fong branch for their facials, threading, and infamous ‘blue wax’. The blue wax is a virtually painless Brazilian waxing technique in Hong Kong, which is kind of a big deal for me after getting Brazilians at some pretty painful waxing stations in TST.
HD Brows is also another signature treatment at Sense of Touch, and involves an intensive seven step process combining waxing, threading, and brow tinting. I have a round face and tended to overpluck in high school, so the team at Sense of Touch tried me on with a more angular brow after a regrowth programme with some HD products. The whole process takes a couple sessions, but the result means brows that are perfect for your face shape, and don’t look over-​plucked (oh, the horror) or over-​plucked. Another treatment you might be interested in is the microdermabrasion facials, which aren’t offered in many places in Hong Kong. I think the only other place I know of that does this is the W Hotel.
My most recent visit to Sense of Touch has been with my sister, at the time pregnant. My sister insists on keeping everything groomed and glamorous even when she’s about to give birth any second. Keeping with a healthy/​organic/​no-​chemicals lifestyle these last nine months, she loves mani/​pedi treatments at Sense of Touch because they offer 3-​Free nail polish, nail polish that removes dibutyl phthalate (DBP), toluene, and formaldehyde. She’s also big on their pregnancy massages, which uses Aromatherapy Associates natural toxin-​free products. The therapists are very aware of how to massage a pregnant woman, avoiding the pressure points on your feet and concentrating on the lower back, swollen legs, and upper back (because your boobs are bigger than they’ve ever been!).
