Happy hour is from 18:00 — 21:00, and it’s only $ 45 for selected drinks including red wine, white wine and several spirits. I was here for a networking event so it actually felt like the layout of the restaurant wasn’t suitable for that. It was hard to get around and meet new people because the aisles were narrow. It was also felt like the air conditioning wasn’t strong enough for the amount of people. I do appreciate that it’s in a great location, and I could just hop on the ferry to cross the harbor right afterwards.

It used to be good but I may as well be wrong. It’s a hot Sunday afternoon(hot and humid), and we just wanted some place to sip a drink and chill. Pier 7 seemed like a good place. Sat and waited for service, nope, the bar staff gave you the look of «no service today, you’d have to walk up to me». Fine, I walked up and asked for a drink menu. Nope, there’s this cone-shape menu stand in front of the bar and that’s all we got. Fine, I’d take your CONE and walked back to my seat so that my partner could take a look at the menu, too. Ordered a bottle of draft Erdinger, a glass of Bailey’s cocktail, and a potato skins(oh, they had no food menu either. Everything written on the blackboard). Waited for about 15mins for the food and I asked for the first time. «Oh yeah it’s coming in 5mins.» Fine. I don’t see anyone ordering any food in the whole restaurant, so the kitchen must be preparing the only dish, for us. 25mins later, I asked again. Now the staff told me that the kitchen ran out of the raw materials(running out of potatoes? really?) so they were getting them and will be ready in 10mins. Usually it’s the time I’d cancel the time, but since I have already paid for it, I guessed I’d have to wait. 40mins later it came and the potato skins were lukewarm. Maybe it’s lazy Sunday for everyone. But it’s under Café Deco Group, by the way. So I’d expect something much better.

Both food and service at this place are horrible! It was my frist and last time going there. We had a chicken jalapeños and pepperoni pizzas. They were cold, considering they were supposed to be made to order. The chicken was dried and chewy. With the price they charged, I expected more. Pizza Hut’s pizzas are way better than these. So don’t waste your money here. The servers didn’t even wipe the table, only cleaned up the dishes. When asked about the items on the menu, they didn’t bother to answer other than pointing to the menu board. Customer service is ½ star. The buffet was bad too, with very limited selections. Salmon didn’t have enough flavor, salad and other sides were mediocre at best. Definitely I won’t go back. If I can get it zero star, I would!

This place a little gem for those who knows where it is. Pier 7 sits on top, well, pier 7. This is actually the new Star Ferry terminal and as you could see from the design it is supposed to reinvigorate the«spirit» of the 1920’s building that has gone before it. I’m not sure how other people see but I just can’t see how this green stucco will help in what is basically a brand new purpose built pier. It does, however, provide a neat place for those to go if you were looking for somewhere to drink in Central that’s off the beaten track(not in LKF basically). right at the top of the building is the bar and café Pier 7, neatly tucked into the loft with an open area outside, the bar provides a magnificent view of the Central skyline and its no wonder that many corporate events take place here. The drinks list is extensive and the happy hour deal has the added bonus of complimentary finger foods. This would fuel any drinkers looking to continue into the wee hours. The house wine they provide is also quite good(haven’t tried it myself– stuck to beers) whilst they have an all out kitchen that serves anything from pastas to pizzas. Whilst the indoor area is actually quite small, on a good day you can sit outside where you could benefit from both the views looking over the harbor as well as the forementioned Central skyline(IFC is right in your face). If you were bringing friends from abroad this is something to wow the senses. I wouldn’t say this is a full service bar or restaurant– there are limitations to what they can do here given the small space they have to work with. Neither is it a place for raves; its more of an after work place. However, if you were looking for somewhere quiet to go in Central then you can’t go wrong with Pier 7.
