Now apparently not everyone is as enthusiastic about the idea of having miniatures of themselves or family members sitting on their bookshelf — who knew! I found out the hard way when I had mini versions of my husband and I made, which I then presented to my husband on Christmas day as a gift ‘from’ our then 10 month old daughter — turns out it was good to have that as an out. I thought they were a great idea. He thought they were slightly creepy. Fortunately, my daughter also loved them — two against one I’m afraid, so they got to stay. My husband argued she just liked having small versions of us to boss around … So, while I don’t recommend getting them as a surprise gift — besides the fact that the required photos, especially the 90* silhouette, were quiet hard to take sureptiously, I stand by the notion that they are in fact good fun. And when you see the range of figurines and poses you get to choose from I’m sure you can’t help but agree. I mean who doesn’t want to ride a dinosaur or sit on a golden toilet? I have threatened to give my sister one for her next birthday … But don’t worry — there are plenty of more conventional designs too(but where’s the fun in that?)
