What a lovely market… I really really want everyone to visit this market during their visit in Hong Kong. I didn’t buy a big bouquet but I bought a few stems of Lilies for my best friend. She was very happy about it! :)

Great place to walk around and smell all the flowers, take your dates there, it’s a fun area to walk and maybe buy her a pretty bouquet! after you are tired, you can always walk back to Mong kok area for some food and shopping

Great to walk around and see all the florists… smells wonderful and colors are fab… also closed to the bird market(a bit sad/depressing for us as animal lovers)…

Up in Prince Edward is a flower market right down the road from the bird garden. It was a lovely rainy day when I visited, which made being there all the more enjoyable. There’s so much for sale, packed into an area no bigger than two square blocks and a few side streets. Live plants, cut flowers, and dried flowers are available as well as vases, rocks, and decorative pieces. There are some really high-end shops selling fully curated live arrangements for thousands of HKD. Then there are the run-of-the-mill places with simple cut bouquets. You can also find mix-and-match stores, but it tends to be more costly to create your own arrangement. If you want live plants for indoor or outdoor use, there are hundreds of types here too, anything from moss and ground cover to large trees. The selection impressively covers local flora, tropical varieties, and Western plants and flowers too.

The Flower Market in Mongkok is something quite special in Hong Kong, its not a dedicated area as such but its an area that spans several blocks in the middle of town that dedicates itself to the sale of flowers. Its not only the sale of flowers which attracts people, here you will find everything you will need to tend to your own plant or garden. There are shops that sell specific garden furniture which are rare in Hong Kong given not a lot of people have gardens, there are ones that specializes in pots and gardening tools. We shouldn’t detract from the main product here though, it really is a scene to behold on certain days where you will see every single shop with roses(e.g. valentines) lined from top to bottom and you will have endless choices in terms of size, colour, the packaging and even what you want to go with your flowers. For those of you who are on a last minute spree to get flowers– you can’t get a better place than this and admittedly I have on some important days come here as a last resort. The prices will be cheaper here than ordering online and your choices will be much wider; you will be well advised to try to haggle and look around a few more shops for better prices. I’ve tried and had varying results in the past so I guess most people would do better than me.
