Esso Gas

This review is actually more on the people who work here as opposed to how good the petrol station is.
The Esso Tai Wai is a big garage in the middle of Tai Wai– you will see that there is a constant queue to fill up here as it is the most convenient site for most motorist. There are something like 8 – 10 pumps but that doesn’t seem to be enough and often cars back out of the forecourt and it creates a traffic jam for the rest of Tai Wai. That I don’t mind though– and for a reason.
I was here sometime ago to fill up my car. It was a busy day and the attendants were really working their socks off. I went through the usual business of telling them how much to fill up etc (on this particular day I was only filling up a small amount) and I was just looking to get out of their as soon as possible. I was told that the process was done and I could be on my way; I duly did so and was well on my way when I noticed: the needle hardly moved. I thought this was mechanical thing and maybe I could just wait it out.
Then the phone rang– it was actually the station attendants who had tracked my number through the points card, they called me back saying that they hadn’t actually filled up my car yet (though I have already paid). After a flurry of apologies they asked me to return and fill up for the same amount for free next time. I was pretty impressed with that as they could well have done nothing and I probably wouldn’t be any wiser. they also made the effort to let me know which to this day was a nice thing to do on their part.
