Well, first and foremost, I just want to say how excited I was for WEEKS before this event as the first Elite event in Hong Kong. My expectations were set high after attending Unilocal Elite events in Washington, DC. I invited a friend to come with me and had gushed to her about the amazingness was that is Unilocal and Unilocal events. I hoped this would be a similar experience and Kevin, Unilocal and Stack did not disappoint! We arrived just after the start time and were greeted by the lovely Tresna and fantastic Kevin. For checking into the event we got two drink tickets and were able to sample the moscato. It was served in the cutest tin cups. I won’t lie that there was a point where we were wondering if food would be served at all as it seemed to be so long before anything was served. Then we suddenly started to smell the amazing aromas of what was being prepared in the back by the Stack staff. We were then served heaping plates of terriyaki eggplant, mini-pancake stacks, and chili chicken wings and the plates just kept coming and the food was amazing! Well worth the wait! The other thing I loved about this event was the takeaway pictures Kevin was printing out from the hashtag for the event! The two pictures I have are hanging on my fridge and will be the perfect keepsake from this spectacular event!

It’s my first time joining an Elite Event, great chance to know a real food blogger and fun pals in my neighbourhood. It’s great that the venue, Stack, is a bit small, making it more cosy for chit chat and mingle. The Moscato wine was sweet and perfect for girls, I couldn’t help but got myself a second round. The bar snacks — eggplant, chicken wings and mini pancakes were great to pair with the Moscato. I love the pancake the most. Used to make pancakes at home myself I know very well it is not easy to make soft and fluffy pancakes while keeping them thin. And Stack did it well. With the crunch, cream and maple syrup the pancakes were very delicious. The chicken wings were yummy too, cooked with various exotic spices, the wings tasted like a mixture of Mexican and Sichuan(haha.at least I think so la…) Thanks Kevin for organising such awesome event. Looking forward to the next one~

The first Elite event in Hong Kong, and my first Unilocal event ever, was a ringing success IMHO. Great venue size: cozy, intimate, maybe a little cramped at times, but that just added to the intimacy of the event and forced everyone to be nice and mingle and get to know their neighbors! It was great to meet a few of these Hong Kong Unilocalers whom I’ve been seeing pop up on here; a great little Unilocal community we have here in HK! I’m looking forward to attending more Unilocal events in the future. As far as the food and beverage fare that we sampled, I have to say that it was all outstanding. My favorite was the pancake with mascarpone and honeycomb on top(I have a sweet tooth — what can I say), but the eggplant and chicken wings were on point too. And, that’s saying a lot, because I usually don’t even like to each chicken, and these perfectly spiced wings had me coming back for more. Bonus: Stack’s ingredients are organic and free range to the extent possible. I don’t know of any other bar in Hong Kong with such an emphasis on «healthy» eats. Heck, they even have a cocktail made from kombucha. Perhaps the gin in the cocktail negates the health benefits of the kombucha, but details details — it’s delicious. Overall, a great event, and I look forward to the next!

It was great to be able to check out this new venue and try some of the food, which was very yummy. The manager and owner were on hand to introduce and share about the dishes. We got to try the chili wings, eggplant, and pancake. I especially liked the wings, which were made from 8 kinds of chili, but wasn’t overly spicy, and had a very good, complex flavor. We also got to try two of their cocktails and definitely quite unique. There was also the opportunity to hashtag and have our pictures printed our on-site. Kevin, the community manager for UnilocalHK, was very nice and printed out 4 pictures for the group of 4 of us, so we each had one. Overall, I wish there were some more opportunities for interaction at the event, maybe through games/activities so we can better get to know the other Unilocalers. The venue was also a bit crowded for the number of people present, so I would advise to have fewer people be able to join, or have a slightly larger venue to keep the same amount of people present. Thanks Kevin for organizing!

It cannot be better to start first elite event here. Foreign influence but totally Hong Kong inspirations. I don’t eat eggs, so you know how much I depended on pancakes whenever brunch is calling. We are a group of appx. 20 that this space fit perfect for cocktails and sampling fresh made from the bar/kitchen. I fancy the high ceiling that finally some air to circulate. NYC dark tone deco, semi open kitchen plus that all see-through window intimacy. Salute to Wirra wirra moscato, I can easily go never-ending tap for it… Good job, team! Ready to reach hands on food. Those sizzling hot chicken wings came out from nowhere! Later we got to know it was deep fried and marinated with 6 types of chillies. We are hooked right away. Then came plates of grilled aubergine. They picked Japanese yakitori soy for seasoning but does not necessarily felt like skewers. When I was watching out, a tray of pancakes arrived. Honey comb with maple syrup. Rather classy but you know you have to come back for more. .
