This is our second day in HK but has been our best meal so far — superior to any dim sum place i’ve ever tried in Canada. The pineapple bbq pork buns are pillowy soft and melts in your mouth. Xiao long bao was juicy and light and simple but very flavourful. The truffle mushroom dumpling was a good vegetarian choice. The wagyu beef filled bun was amvery peppery in flavour but also delicious. We ordered a big crab-filled dumpling in broth — that was just ok but it contained a lot of seafood. Glutinous rice wrapped in tea leaves were just the right size — very moist. We finished the meal with a custard banana bun that was shaped like a monkey for CNY — this was impressive by its presentation. I would definitely recommend this restaurant! Great food and excellent service!

Michelin star restaurant in HK? The service is fantastic and we received vip service since my aunts a regular here. The food was so good and I can still remember it now. Order the scallop– you won’t regret!

For a Michelin starred restaurant, nothing was Michelin-like. From the moment we walked in for lunch, the staff were pretentious and looked down on us as if we couldn’t afford it. We were dressed reasonably well but were younger than most the other diners so I’ve put it down to that. Their attitude was polite but in a fake way, like they were forced to be polite because they worked at an upscale restaurant. This made our whole experience uncomfortable. The décor of the restaurant was upscale, modern Chinese yum cha style and the big tables were spread far apart. Exclusive and quiet atmosphere, none of those yum cha trolleys clattering around with the items in the trolley being called out. The quality of food was high and the dim sims were big, but the food was not so special as to justify the high prices. With the service being a let down and the food being good but not exceptional, the restaurant is overpriced for Hong Kong and international standards and I wouldn’t recommend it.

What can I say? The service here is excellent and if only this level of service can be replicated in Australia! Seating area is perfect as your privacy is well respected due to their spacious interior and positioning of tables. Your tea pot is never luke warm or half empty; it’s always filled before you realise it’s time. We had their Yum Cha for lunch; you can also choose their all you can eat yum cha and they also have an al la carte menu too if you want to nibble a little more than others. The highlight of the dishes we ordered was definitely the birds nest egg tart. Birds nest as you all know is exotic and expensive, the egg tart is a stable dish at all yum cha places and a traditional dessert. Mixing the two together is not uncommon but hard to find a place that does it so well. The pastry is made so well, it crumbles but doesn’t create a mess. You can see the layers of pastry when you bite through. The egg was made pretty much just right with it’s soft texture — it’s like eating tofu. Bird’s nest is usually quite expensive and they were very generous with their serving on the tart. But then again, you’re paying HK$ 78 for an egg tart, you would expect nothing less! Everything else was done quite well except not really worth the price tag. You’d rather try Tim Ho Wan instead if you want michelin star dim sims! However, will come back again when I have a chance.
