Haven’t been here before! We were doubting where to eat, and as we love Thai curries, my love told me that there actually was a Thai restaurant nearby. Really? How did I miss it! The place has a nice, casual ambiance with friendly, helpful staff. We picked the hot&sour mushroom soup and a coconut mushroom soup as starters. Both very lovely. My boyfriend was more fond of my coconut soup and would order that one next time. Next, of course, I needed to sample the green curry. And there it came. big steaming bowls with white rice. It looked delish! When I tasted it, it was a tad to spicy for me. Which is a shame, because when it’s too spicy, it’s hard to concentrate on the flavor. The flavor was good, but not through the roof. I thought it to be a little too salty(too much fish sauce?) and I missed the sweet hint in the curry. Two portions was way too much for us, but thankfully they have a take-away, so we packed it in for the next day. Verdict? The green curry is good, but not the best we ever had. Coconut soup is heaven. So we’re caught in the middle! Still need to try out some of the other dishes. Especially that one that looked like a huge pile of tempura-style fried vegetables. So we’ll be back!

I’ve walked by this place dozens of times as I’ve strolled down twijnstraat on saturday afternoons. It’s hard to miss the hanging red plastic lamps that are taken down with a ladder promptly at 10pm every night. You can see the bright colors of the inside and the painted vegetables posters on the walls. It’s hard to figure out what’s going on inside, but once you’re seated, you start to get it. The menu is simple but maintains several different options for the diner — curries to noodles to spring rolls to even soups. Most things are only € 5 – 10 and I would recommend getting dishes to share — like tapas. I had one of the soups and tried some of the noodles, both impressive. They were even kind of spicy, which is weird for a restaurant in the Netherlands. This is a solid place. Quick, simple, cheap, good no-bullshit thai-etnamese.
