I have a hard time choosing between«A-okay»(three stars) and«Yay! I’m a fan»(four stars). Because as much as I am a fan of food from home(CRUMPETS!!!), I’m not really a fan of the way Marks&Spencer has organised the food. The best by dates are often within a week from being put in the shop, but they order in such quantities that often you’ll walk in and all products will be good until that day or maybe the next. What this means is basically having to freeze anything you buy here which in the case of crumpets(CRUMPETS!!!) is horrible. It doesn’t do their texture any good and there’s really nothing better than a fresh crumpet(CRUMPET!!!) toasted, slathered in margarine and peanut butter. Besides the best by dates and the weird quantities they order, lies the next problem which in some ways is still a quantity problem. Often, you’ll walk in here craving… you guessed it: CRUMPETS!!! and there won’t be any left. BLASPHEMY! Also, I love the spinach cannelloni, but this too is quite often a crapshoot as to whether or not it’ll a) be in stock and b) have to be frozen or could still survive a day or two in the fridge. Thus my dilemma. Is it okay or am I a fan? I think it’s both and yet also neither, however I will settle on giving M&S food four stars since 3.5 stars isn’t an option and they do have the things I love: hot cross buns(CRUMPETS!!!), spinach cannelloni(CUMPETS!!!) and let’s not forget the crumpets(CRUMPETS!!!).
