Awesome ambience. Great place to share a drink with your woman in the big comfy chairs and low light. We’ll definitely be back to try the food, but we waited more than an hour and never received a table. You can’t order any food if seated at the bar for some reason.

Incredible interior. Walking in through red velvet curtains will make you feel like royalty. The dim candle lighting is highly romantic and the restaurant is massive. Food is pretty good. The deserts were excellent.

Great place! Location and décor are perfect. When you get in you feel like you have travelled back in time. Service is top, welcoming waiter/waitresses, service timings is right. Regarding the food it is also worth the money. 3 courses menu is about 26 euros. Food amount is right. I have had a crush on the crispy salmon(krokante zalm) served as starter. I highly recommend this place. Little down is the noise but something to expect in such a nice restaurant. Will go again for sure!

Ok, if nothing more, the interior of Humphrey’s is really impressive. Set inside an old storage hall along the canal, Humphrey’s mixed old style Dutch tiles with red velvet walls and dark accents. It felt a little dungeons and dragons, but in a cool way. It’s definitely great value for money — at 26.50 you get 3 course, of which I could not finish. One of the smaller rooms shows reels of vintage Dutch life which is pretty cool. Would go again!

This is the third Humphrey’s restaurant that we’ve visited now and I’ve decided to make it my life’s goal to visit all nineteen Humphrey’s restaurants. If you’ve read my other Humphrey’s reviews you know that I love their concept, from décor to menu. So by now I just base their star rating on how well they compare to each other. This Humphrey’s has amazing décor. Each area has a different style while staying in the same theme which for Humphrey’s en Rouge is obviously red. Being in one of the old city cellars they have so much space, it’s really huge! One of the advantages of owning a business under the city. With this massive amount of space comes the luxury of having a primary dining room, a few dining rooms for groups of around ten to twenty people, a bar, a large dining room with a film screen and a few more lounge areas, each with their own twist on the Humphrey’s style. Amazing! As far as the food goes, it’s pretty much the same as at other Humphrey’s. Le boyfriend however mentioned that the pork on his mixed grill was a bit dry which it hadn’t been at Bogart’s in Apeldoorn. Another difference was the Aïoli. In Apeldoorn it had been deliciously smooth with a nice amount of garlic, here I had the feeling that it came from a jar. The colour was weird, it had a weird twang that the store bought stuff also has and garlic was completely undetectable. When I mentioned the weird flavour to the server(obviously leaving my jarred suspicions out of it) he said they chose for a mild Aïoli on purpose. I get that, but it doesn’t mean that it should taste, look and feel the way it does. Other than that, these servers(unlike the servers in Apeldoorn) really seemed to know what they were doing. They were friendly, attentive and helpful; great!
