Mercure Hotel Tilburg Centrum

Staff was very nice. They took the time to get me a few taxis, ideas for walking around, directions to a restaurant I may enjoy, etc. Room was nice, typical smaller than US sizing, but very modern. It had the same showerhead and rainshower I have so added bonus. Brought my requested iron within minutes and came to replace the batteries in the remote in minutes as well. I was in the renovated side so perhaps the other isn’t as nice. I suggest the La Trappe brewery a short cab ride away.

Good hotel, its modern and renovated and now with a brand new sauna! but you have to be naked so head up ;-) food and service is nice and I definitely recommend people staying here for short terms if you’re inTilburg.

Stayed one night at the Mercure in Tilburg. The location is central in Tilburg so if you wish to see Tilburg the location is great.
Anyone who stayed at a Mercure hotel before will know what to expect from the rooms. For the rest of you it is a pretty standard business hotel. There was a large bed, a desk with a chair and then also a small table with another chair. TV was available, of course with the standard system at many Mercure hotels which requires some pretty advanced navigation through the menus to just watch TV — very annoying when waking up tired. Also was not very please with the fact that they charge a lot just to use the Internet. That said the room was nice, bed comfortable and everything was clean.
We also had dinner in the restaurant. It looks pretty nice and from what one of my colleagues told me it has often been fully booked when they stayed there before. This time it was however only 4 tables occupied. The service was however horribly slow, we had to wait 15 – 20 minutes just to order and the night progressed in the same manner with a lot of waiting time, forgotten orders and we even had to ask for the bill three times. I did also have breakfast at restaurant and then the service was not really a problem since it was a buffet. The hot food was however not very hot so they kept to their slow pace even then.
All taken together I would not recommend the hotel as there are other options that must be better, especially considering that it is not very cheap. If you decide to stay do however go elsewhere to eat.
