I am addicted to Warung Mini! Once every two weeks at least I go there, it’s so comfortable and relaxing and the food is great! I often take vegetable roti, it’s my favorite dish! I tried also the soup and the ‘snacks’, they are really good too! The restaurant have just been renovated, there aren’t many seats and you can’t book so during the week end it’s quite impossible to have dinner with a group. But no problem, in the week end it’s open until 6 in the morning! :)

Super good, super cheap, no bullshit indonesian food in R-dam. Really liked it and we ate for about 9 euros each. Small seating for about 20 in the restaurant — but many people just take out. No beer there, but there is a SPAR right across the street that has beer; just saying.

As we arrived in Rotterdam city just before the lunch time started, we already had some blocks walking. Ok, either we were at the totally wrong area or Rotterdam is absolutely not a typical tourist city we were just glad that we found this spot. Yes, there are dozens of indonesian eating-places in the Netherlands as everybody knows it but it seems this mini little veneu a very special one. If you take a peek look down at the restaurant’s window you’d think you see a medium large of a cantine or something like that as you gotta order your food at the bar where you could also see some traditional pre-cooked dishes. Once you get in, you’d be surprised how small the place is actually. We went directly straight to the bar as hardly noone sat on the tables but some customers were already lining up in front of the bar. The order taking needed a lil while so that I could look around and start to figure out what I gotta order as the dont have any menu at all! As our turn came, I ordered a simple Fried Noodles(Mi Goreng) for our little Mister before I asked if they have something with veggies and stuffs. The guy at the cashier, to my surprise, understood any regular words in Indonesian but I was glad as he mentioned ‘Gado-gado’(an Indonesian dish( ) or Indonesian salad( ) consisting of boiled vegetables served with a peanut sauce( ) dressing. Tofu and Tempeh both cooked or fried are also some other regular ingredients in it). My better half wished to have some lambs in typical indonesian dark curry. The 3 orders turned out to be nice(fresh and well seasoned/cooked) but we begun wondering why this place is suddenly packed and everyone ordered ‘Soto Soep’(in Indonesian you call simply call it Soto or Soto Ayam/Chicken) which mainly composed of broth, meat and vegetables but you only find the version with chicken breast stripes and eggs here. I actually thought I could savour the Soto later but I underestimated the power of my Veggie Plate. :D To have some Soto take-ways(like mostly people did that day) were difficult that day as we needed to walk back to the car before continue driving to Den Haag(The Hague). Price? Cant tell you each dish accurately, but with 3 drinks(3 pax) we paid less than 35 Eur which is considered to be quite moderate in the Netherlands. If someone is asking what does Warung stand for It means simply a small traditional shop usually run by the family member. It could also be a small café or restaurant. Why then put the word mini afterwards? Hm either to stress out how small the shop/place is or its the owner name or something. :D Photo link: Photo link: Photo link: Photos courtesy of & edited by ME: D
