The interior looks a bit plain and it’s always a bit chilly, but the Phở Bo Dac Biet here is excellent, with hand made beef balls.

A Vietnamese mom-n-pop, hole-in-the-wall kinda shop. It is small, personal and cozy. The dishes are tasty. Not necessarily the best Vietnamese I’ve had but it is one of the better ones in the Netherlands. Great service. And as far as the food goes, you will have to try it for yourself. I have always loved Vietnamese food but somehow most Vietnamese food in the Netherlands don’t taste so authentic, they’re either«Dutchified» or has a strong Chinese influence. But it is not the case for Phở Hanoi. It is centrally located next to the Markthal. Quite convenient!

Where I’m from, I could walk to a number of phở restaurants from my doorstep. I’ve experienced a wide range of phos — the good, the bad, the not-so-great-but-I’m-not-vomitting-yet-either. And through all of those experiences, Phở Hanoi makes some of the best phở I’ve had in my life. I did order a BBQ Pork Banh Mi, which was pretty good. The baguette was crisp on its crust, but not overly tough to the point where it razor blades the roof of your mouth. Instead, it flakes off, in a nice way, as the bread melts in your mouth. And the pork was well marinated, adding strong flavors while ensuring the sandwich isn’t too dry. 4⁄5. But onto the important part — the phở. So many phở places go wrong by making a broth that is so light in flavor that it just takes like water. But not Phở Hanoi. The broth takes suit of its meat and really absorbs the flavor that it offers; it gives the broth a real body that never feels too thick, nor like just water. That’s what makes Phở Hanoi so great, and that’s what makes it 5⁄5.

This really is a mom and pop kinda restaurant. The owner is a sweet little lady that’s always there to make sure you have everything you need. The Phở and Vermicelli are a decent size with a tasty broth. This is our go-to place for Phở in Rotterdam, right by to Markthal too!

this is your typical small Vietnamese family owned diner. simple menu of rice, noodles, and some side dishes. the lady boss was very friendly and helpful, offering me xtra chillis because she knew I liked my noodles spicy, and even went further to ask if I wanted xtra coriander or garnishes. the only setback was I felt that there was a little bit of msg in the soup but still a very very satisfying bowl of noodles. for € 8.25 you get a large bowl of Vietnamese beef phở !

Friendly staff. The broth of the phở is dark. Feels like coming home. Rice dishes are also nice. Portion size are great.
