One of my go to places when work became late and no mood to cook.
I’m a sushi lover (mostly fusion sushi) and when I order in i don’t miss an opportunity to get a sushi bite.
My GF offered me a sushi kit but i’m not a real master of sushi making so i stick to my regular orders.
Fugu is not my favorite sushi place for only one reason, their roles are to damn bib! The ingredients are fresh, the rolls are perfectly made, their rice is authentic, they don’t overpack your order but their roles are to damn big… Maybe its just me but i like to get the whole role in my mouth and have that explosion of flavor and i just can’t with this huge rolls.
Either way, fully recommend to try as the quality of the Ingredients is top!

I’ve only been there once so the review is merely based on that one visit, but the experience that I had was not so great. The reasons are…
— the rice on the sushi was a bit overcooked
— too much rice on the sushi
— the fish didn’t seem so fresh and flavorful
It’s not the worst sushi I’ve tasted, but for the price that we paid, I find it a bit disappointing. I have yet to find a sushi place in Rotterdam that is actually run by Japanese.
On a positive note, a friend of mine recently ordered a take-​out from them… I didn’t taste the sushi, but they looked much better than when I dined there. So maybe they have gotten better since my visit.

Quality sushi in a nice ambiance. Situated inside an rebuild old warehouse, the whole area breathes a modern atmosphere. A little chily on the feet when you take the ‘traditional Japanese’ seats. But maybe that was just a little too much for the winter time. You pay for what you get, good sushi!
