What a nice lunch expérience… We just pass by and décide to stop randomly a this place but we were not disapointed at all.
I had the luch menu it was a chicken with a incredible Pesto… I also had a side of potatoes au gratin… Delicious… and for only 11,50 Euros… My girl friend had the swordfish and it was verry good also. The wine list is not that expensive, we hade a bottle of withe for 20 euros. The service was also verry good…
If I came back to Rotterdam, I will be back here for sure…

De Machinist should definitely be on your restaurant list in Rotterdam — it has consistently good food, an ever rotating menu of options, and the best ambiance in the city. The fire pit in the center of their large dining room, huge windows, and steel machines from the building’s former life decorating the premises make for a cozy and pleasing environment to enjoy a great meal.
My favorites include their various risotto dishes and perfect fish options like the slip tong. But most recently, I have also enjoyed their tuna carpaccio, and their gnocchi dish. And though this restaurant certainly leans toward gourmet, they also make some really nice french fries.
The menu is also quite reasonably priced and always includes vegetarian options.
