This is hands down the best ice cream chain in The Netherlands. The flavor, texture and variety are all here. From creamy hazelnut to a stronger pistachio or fruity mango. The flavors are great! Since this is their flagship store, it can get very crowded during the summer. The prices are very good compared to other lower quality places.

When you eat an Ice cream what really matters is the taste and texture! You want to feel the sweetness of the fruit, the intensity of the chocolate the bitterness of the lemon. You want to feel the smooth and creamy ice cream, not the hard little ice stones.
Well that’s what you’ll get here a tasty and creamy Ice cream! For sure the best in town!
Its not as good as in Italy, were the above requirements are met to perfection but I challenge you to find better in R’dam (please let me know if you do)!

I love this place! The prices were very reasonable. The service was patient toward my non-​dutch speaking ways. The ambiance was sleek and open. There was seating outside but it was evident based on the setup that it is more of a grab and go kind of place. Thankfully, they had non-​dairy items. I ordered the raspberry sorbet. It was very delicious and freshly prepared. They also had a small store located in the market about a 10 minute walk away. So, if you go to the main store and it is closed, then try the market. Definitely worth a visit!

The best ice cream parlor in town is so good, it doesn’t even need a special name. It’s just simply called the ice salon because it’s THE ice salon in town. People queuing up in a long row, reaching nearly the end of the street corner. And they’re willing to do that every day as long as the season is running. Why? Because the ice cream of the ice salon has real taste. Orange actually tastes like orange, strawberry actually tastes like strawberry. They only use homemade and real ingredients. This ice cream parlor has won several prizes. Almost every year they win a prestigious price for ice cream makers.
But their really strong point is the fact that they have such wonderful and special flavors. For instance, they have snicker flavored ice cream! With real snicker chunks!
Further more they have Nutella, elderberry, orange, mango, passion fruit, bitter cookies and a whole range of other special flavors. The usual flavors are also available so don’t worry. There are also different kinds of chocolate flavors, like dark chocolate. There’s a also oreo cookie and chocolate chip cookie flavors.
Trust me, once you’ve tasted their ice cream you wouldn’t want anything else. If you want coffee or hot chocolate, you’re also welcome. De ijssalon is the spot in town.

This is the best ice cream shop in the Netherlands! The ice cream is delicious and creamy, just the way a rich ice cream should be.
There are so many flavors to choose from. My recommendations: stroopwafel and oma appeltart. A single scoop is 1,80 which is a reasonable price.
You should come back multiple times and work through all the delicious flavors!

We just went to De ijssalon for the first time today. The ice cream was delicious… so many flavors to choose from. The shop is super modern and clean and you can tell by the crowd that this is without a doubt the best ice cream in the area. We will definitely be back many times this summer!
