The final stop on our tour with Lindbergh Excursions, we enjoyed a very entertaining demonstration of the carving of the wooden shoes, trying on the shoes ourselves and doing a bit of shopping. In addition to shoes they also sell decorative sets, and other items. There were also displays of gorgeously painted shoes that were not for sale, historic pieces of equipment that were used before machines, etc. Everything they make is sold right there; they do not distribute to shops. The shoes only leave to be painted and are brought back to be sold. Marken is beautiful, and I wish we’d had more time there! They accept credit cards for transactions more than € 10.

This is one of the coolest places where they make and sell clogs. There are plenty to choose from. Wooden shoes are cool. Enjoy the sights in the small picturesque town. Bring your walking shoes. You might as well be comfortable while you walk. I saw a bunch of people on bikes so there might be a place nearby to rent them. It’s a quiet restful place but it’s very tourist oriented so prepare to wade through the large groups of tourists. It’s worth seeing.

An adorable klompen shot, museum, maker! We stopped here on a tour of windmills, cheese and wooden shoes! The fella doing the tour was great, and amazingly fast! The equipment is very old but still works as intended! The options of wooden shoes, and wooden shoe paraphernalia was amazing! The help you size your feet for your own set of shoes, we picked up a «bird feeder shoe» for the mother in law, and some little ceramic ones to give to my co-workers. Definitely a fun stop!
