Through the curtain the wonderful smell of truffle and cream welcomed us. My second impression was the crowdiness of the place. We arrived late and made a reservation, so we had the last table available. The hostess was very friendly and she really made us feel like a guest. We got a nice wine advice and she presented us with some home made bread with little pots of aioli and a homemade tapenade of egg, truffle an leek. The menu looked very interesting, everything seems worth trying, so it is really difficult to choose. We decided to choose anyway and not go for the surprise menu. I went for the sushi as a starter, which was really good. Only the seaweed from the California roll was a bit chewy. The steak tartare my company had, was also really good. Then I continued with a crêpe with lentil and hoisin sauce. So good, but a bit too much. And I still had to arrive at the main course after that. They actually do serve small portions, but I was not alert enough to ask for a small portion. I guess if you don’t ask, the standard is the regular portion. That was turning against me when the actual main course arrived. A wonderful home made pasta with tomatoes, prepared in melted Parmesan cheese warmed up by grappa set to fire and topped with fresh truffle. Now I understood what caused the wonderful smell that welcomed us when we arrived. The only problem was, I could only take five bites and then I had to stop. It was so rich, but so wonderful, I just had to ask for a doggy bag. This place upgraded the doggy bag to a ‘swan’ bag and I am looking forward to my lunch tomorrow ;-). I have to give some more credits to the waitress who gave us wine advise with the main course. She picked a really good red wine and we decided to order a bottle. She especially came back to inform us about the price, cause it was a pricy wine and she would want to know that herself if she would be a guest. Just got to love that! To summarize, great food, engaged staff, a bit, but not too pricy, only minor thing is the atmosphere which is a bit noisy and not really intimate. Somehow I felt this place deserves a better location.

Really a great Restaurant. I was so pleasantly surprised by the food, the service and the great atmosphere. It is not really cheap, but also not extravagantly expensive. The service was fantastic, friendly etc. Exactly how it should be. I had Vitello Tonnato and Spaghetti in Parmasan(Excellent! — best meal on our big table) — with a great local/traditional desert — Stroopwaffel done in a new way(with Thia Maria cream). The lounge upstairs is very comfortable, and very stylish. Great Place! Go eat there!
