This is the oldest pub in Haarlem, being situated in one of the oldest buildings in Haarlem. «De Waag» means the «scales», which were used to weigh goods being brought into the city for commerce. And in fact, you can see the balance beam of an old scale hanging from the ceiling. Wednesday-​Friday you can come for a set meal; 10 euros (steak, salad and frites. Fish on Friday!) Sundays are music nights, where local musicians as well as national touring acts perform from 5:00 — 7:00 p.m. There is a beautiful outdoor seating area, and a great selection of wine and beer. A visit to Haarlem would not be complete with a visit to De Waag!
