This review is more for the bar side.
Here you can go and have a drink at the bar or go in the back and sit in a big room full of comfy chairs. In the warmer months the outside is also nice since Stempels is located directly in the center of Haarlem.

12.8.2014 Kräftig und sehr aromatisch ist der Cappuccino hier im «Stempels». Für meinen Geschmack der bisher der beste hier am Platz. Aber ich habe ja noch nicht alle getestet ;-)
30.7.2014 Der Laden brummt die ca. 100 Tische draußen sind gut besetzt. Ich suche mir drinnen ein nettes Plätzchen und obwohl entgegen meiner Erwartungen drinnen alles recht modern eingerichtet ist, hat man es mit dem Design nicht übertrieben und so ist es dort recht gemütlich.
Ich werde auch sofort bedient, alle sind trotz Hochbetrieb ehrlich bemüht freundlich zu bleiben. Der «Salade Stempels» ist frisch und knackig mit einem leckeren Dressing, dass ich so auch noch nicht kannte. Als ich gehen will hat der Betrieb noch zugenommen, aber die Rechnung kam in nur wenigen Minuten. Da gehe ich noch mal hin.

This place consists of both a restaurant and a brasserie and is located on the main square of Haarlem.
The food at this place was very good and the staff here is also very friendly.
If you are looking for a nice, little bit more formal restaurant with good food in Haarlem, for sure you should consider this place.

My mother had a spectacular 60^th birthday party upstairs at Stempels! The food was beautiful, high quality and served in a timely manner. Despite their warnings that we might have to silence the band early in case of complaints, they were able to play all evening, and everyone danced. Very well arranged, and friendly service too.
I found their lunch hour at the Brasserie a little less impressive. I can’t recall what I ordered as it was the special I think, but I remember it being on the bland side, though with a nice presentation! Service was a little slow too.
Probably best for dinner, but a very good choice for a large event!

Excellent food in different style rooms for dinnng (ie, it’s not just one big restaurant). Good bar for a pre dinner drink.
