an unserem letzten abend in haarlem hatten wir uns dieses kleine lokal ausgeguckt und konnten glücklicherweise den letzten nichtreservierten tisch ergattern. zuerst hatten wir als starter knusprig-frisches brot mit aioli und oliven, sehr lecker. mein steak auf bohnen mit fritjes war sehr lecker, meine partnerin hatte eine art mürbes gulasch mit baby-rosenkohl und kartoffelbrei, auch sehr lecker. auch der orientalische salat war total lecker mit feinen rindfleischstreifen und süsslichem dressing.
der service war sehr aufmerksam und prompt und die jungs in der offenen küche leisteten auf den wenigen quadratmetern die ihnen zur verfügung standen ganz erstaunliches.

I love this restaurant! So charming and pretty, complete with a small garden and solarium in the rear. We were lucky enough to be seated in the back with sunshine and a view of the garden, and it was lovely. Our waitress was very helpful and friendly translating the Dutch menu into English, and we were well-attended to for our entire meal.
I got the fish entrée and it was tender, well cooked and slightly crispy on the outside — perfect. The food was evidently prepared with care, and an excellent portion size. If you’re looking for a place to dine in Haarlem just go here!

Who said that Dutch cannot cook? Truly home made dishes, starting with the wonderful maionese and ending in the butter cookies that go together with the coffee.
The short menu was a sign of focus and possibly quality. It was confirmed all the way! A must go if you visit the beautiful city of Haarlem.

Stopped by at the end of the busy lunch hour on a misty day. Warm greetings at the door were exchanged, and we were promptly seated by the window. Lively environment in a cozy Dutch house set not too far from the Grote Markt. My guest and I split the tomato soup, a sandwich, and a salad. We had too much good food on the table, which is a good problem to have. Would be so happy to return.

Tiny restaurant located in the cute and quiet streets of Harlem. Located on the ground floor of a typical Dutch house, the restaurant offers fish, meat, and international cuisine. The prices are quite high for Haarlem, but the friendly staff and the above-average service, as well as the taste, are totally worth it. I would have tried several starters had I been with a larger group.

Pieck has a well deserved reputation as the best place for lunch in Haarlem! Nice broodjes, friendly service, reasonable prices. The food is not particularly modern, but it’s always good. Try the carpaccio or mustard soup!

Finally ate dinner here after months of walking down this idyllic street and peeking in the windows. This restaurant is always busy — ALWAYS — and for good reason. It is extremely cozy (gezellig, even) and the food, wine and service were very nice.
I started my meal with the standard menu soup (€ 6), which is a carrot-heavy vegetable soup with loads of cream on top. It was a large serving, could easily be a meal in itself, and it was delicious — especially perfect for a cool Dutch day or evening. I then had the Summer Hill salad as my entrée and it was also quite large (the kleine serving for € 8.50) and fresh. Every portion is served with a large hunk of delicious bread, and I left feeling completely satisfied and happy (after not finishing the soup or salad!).
After dinner coffee was also perfect, and the prices were acceptable. This isn’t fast food, it isn’t cheap, but it is warm and appropriate and tasty comfort food. Dining here was a relaxing and comfy experience. Just what I wanted/needed. Oh. and the desserts looked very nice, just didn’t have any need for more food!
