Carlton Square

The Carlton is awesome. My boyfriend and I were put off by the photos of their bizarro décor, but an AirBnB cancellation landed us in this hotel, one of the only ones with a room available on short notice on a Saturday night. We loved our stay! The blue-​and-​gold patterns that adorned the rug and chair made for a trippy experience without our even having to sample the local herb, and somehow, the «private bar» in our fridge was FREE. As we guzzled all the liquor we could handle, we toasted the Carlton and vowed to return anytime we were in the area. The breakfast looked good as well, although we decided to break bread in our room from the previous day’s Grote Markt market (try to be in Haarlem during a market day; the local bread is swoonworthy). Viva the Carlton!
