This is a very nice hotel. Its location is terrific: a stone’s throw away from the central square(Grote Markt) and next to the Martini Kerk, you’d expect it to be noisy and busy. But it’s quite the opposite. The building itself is a converted historic site with an impressive history. Staff is very accommodating. Our luggage was taken up to the room(we left it at reception because we arrived before our room was ready). The room itself was excellent with a free mini bar and Nespresso machine. Clean and modern bathroom. If you want to visit Groningen, don’t hesitate to book a room in this hotel.

Loved loved loved this hotel. Very fast and friendly check in. Lovely front desk staff. Free wifi. Free mini bar in room(yes including water, snacks and wine). Free coffee in room — Nepresso machine. The room itself was a little dark — only one tiny window so had to rely on low-wattage lighting in the room. Lovely bathroom with giant soaker tub, shower, toilet in a separate room(water closet). Robes included — heated towel bar. Hotel has a restaurant and bar on site. Bar tenders are extremely welcoming and friendly.

Fantastic two story suite, great service, great food. Great hotel. Europe can be pretty hit or miss as far as hotels. I would definitely return. It is hundreds of years old and used to be a monastery and also a home/summer estate to various royals and aristocrats. Beautiful and impressive structure with immaculate gardens. The gardens were quiet and peaceful, and wandering around you could really feel the history on the grounds and in the building. A very enjoyable stay.

This is a wonderful hotel. It opened in 2012 and still has a brand new feeling. The rooms are great. The bath in our room was upstairs in the loft and included a large tub and a shower.(The toilet is downstairs on the bedroom level. Very comfortable mattress and a great sofa. Our bed was very comfortable. We stayed only one night, but wished we had been scheduled into Groningen for longer. It’s a lovely town in its own right, and the hotel(and adjacent gardens) was just spectacular.
