Like this food very well, the boss came from France and had a happy life in Holland for twenty five years already, I can feel he is happy and also for the food, he really love his business!

Wow, so so good. It’s like traveling back to France! The food was amazing and the owner even came around to talk to us and ask us how to was, he also sang live in French with his wife. Overall amazing atmosphere and food, it is expensive but it’s worth it!

This was the best meal we had in 10 days of good eating in the Netherlands. Bistrot del la Place is a completely genuine, totally French restaurant with food as good as I have had anywhere. The décor is beautiful, refined but still trendy, with pictures of movie stars popular in France; it is not a casual place. The service was perfect, adequately attentive but not at all pushy or rushed. I thought that the wild boar and the pheasant main courses were the best. The wine list was short but looked good and was reasonably priced; the € 34 Euro bottle of Sancerre was very good. Everything was VERY reasonably priced for the quality. The basic main courses were about € 25, but with wine, appetizers, desert and coffee the total was about € 150 for 3 people. A similar meal in San Francisco would cost twice as much.

Ein Lokal und ein Gastgeber wie man es sich wünscht — die hohen Preise bezahlt man gern weil Qualität und Ambiente einfach stimmen!
Mitten in «The Hague» auf einem schönen kleinen Platz befindet sich diese tolle französische Lokal — ich würde es mal als Brasserie kategorisieren. Es ist absolut authenisch eingerichtet und das französische Lebensgefühlt steck in jedem Detail.
Der Inhaber ist allgegenwärtig, er begüßt die Gäste, bringt die Karte, liest die Empfehlungen des Tages vor, macht Scherze, fragt immer wieder ob alles gut ist und singt später sogar zusammen mit der 2-​Mann live Band französische Klassiker. So stellt man sich einen Gastgeber vor. Er leitet das Lokal angeblich seit über 20 Jahren und tut dies mit Leib und Seele — er ist natürlich auch echter Franzose!
Das Essen war tadellos. Die Karte umfasst französische Klassiker, viele Innereien und das beste der Landhausküche. Ich hatte Makrelentarter mit Hummersauce, Rinderfilet Rossini mit Foie Gras (dazu einen Margaux) und eine Rohmilchkäseauswahl (dazu franz. Süßwein). Alles super! Die Preise deutlich gehoben für eine Brasserie. Pro Person 75 Euro.
Falls ich mal wieder in der Gegend bin komme ich in jedem Fall wieder! Weiter so!

Excellent food, wine, service. Duck with parsnips, beef casserole, St. Emilion, rhubarb dessert. Price very reasonable. Quiet spot for a romantic dinner. We ate inside due to cool evening but outdoor seating is available. A good choice in a quieter area.

This a restaurant is my favorite in The Hague. Food and wines are excellent and the menu changes according to the seasons.
The decoration also look like typical bistrots.
And a bonus: the boss sings French variety every week-​end.
A real peace of France in the middle of the city !

I’ve only eaten here once, but I can’t wait to go back. I think this will become one of my favorites in the Hague. The atmosphere is great. The food was fantastic. It’s perfectly French.
