A great german respite while in Amsterdam. Go and have a beer or two and a sausage but alas there are no pretzels. Another star or two if pretzels were on the menu.

Very friendly service and the schnitzel was really, really good. My friends had brats and they were equally as good.

Excelent restaurant, good food and beer, nice staff! The music inside is quite annoying though. :(

Great food and service. We did not have reservations so we were told that we could only sit at the tables in the front, but not in a rude or condescending way. The server was helpful and friendly and brought us our free tap water which another restaurant had told us earlier in the day no restaurant Amsterdam would give us! We ordered schnitzel with Hollandaise and currywurst. The food was served piping hot, no sitting on the counter for minutes! The schnitzel was perfect — juicy and tasty, with enough Hollandaise for every bite. The fried potatoes were very flavorful as well, not an after-thought side but a really good dish on its own. I’m not sure I liked the curry sauce with the kraut, but each alone was good. The fries were crisp and well-seasoned and delicious. Sadly, no room to try the desserts! Would definitely recommend!

Incredibly delicious food, really friendly staff, and huge portions. My friend got the hollandaiseschnizel and I got the holzfällerschnitzel. Both were really good(crispy skin, flavorful sauces)! Fries were crispy as well and the sauerkraut was delicious(not too sour). I also had the radler, so good. Definitely recommended!

Nice authentic German! Really enjoyed it. Arrived on a Monday during the holiday season. It was not busy as they are normally closed on Mondays. Glad we came on in.

I had a schnitzel for the first time here and it was delicious. It’s a decent sized place with a chill, quiet vibe. The servers were also very courteous and attentive. I’d definitely come back.

The schnitzel with cream gravy was great but the French fries might just be the best I’ve ever had!

The staff were above and beyond friendly and welcoming. My party of 3 strolled in on the late side and were so accommodating by cooking us delicious delicious food. The currywurst sausage was delicious! I loved my snitzel(pork) with sauce & mushrooms. It was juicy and perfectly portioned after a long day of being a tourist. This was the most memorable German meal I’ve had. Blows the German food I’ve tried in NYC by far. They give you a LOT of the sides dish. I got potato salad which was ok. Couldn’t put a dent in it. The fried potatoes are better. Clean and spacious establishment. Great prices, you can eat for less than 20 euro. And plus there’s wifi!

True delicious German food. The Flamekusche is to die for and any schnitzels will be delicious as long as you take them With sauce.

This is a solid spot nearby Leidseplein! I had the Jäger Schnitzel and my friend got the curry wurst. We both agreed the schnitzel was better– it was really well prepared– crispy outside and juicy inside. I love would say it’s up there with schnitzel I’ve had in Germany. The portions, including the beers, are big by Dutch standards, so come hungry and thirsty!

¡Amor a primera vista!

Came here Sunday July 5, 2015 in afternoon during the rain We were able to sit outside after the server wiped down the table and I helped dry the seats with a towel. Sitting outside was really nice. The server was super nice and they had enormous beers! He explained the menu and we ordered the Schnitzel with the cream sauce(gravy) and fried potatoes. AMAZING! It was so delicious! I loved every bite and sip of beer. The place was nice inside but we wanted to people watch and see the canal. I gave it 4 stars and not 5 because they have no beer menu, there’s no real good variety or amount of options. Boo. Regardless I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for schnitzel. PROS: — good service — BEST schnitzel — ice cold beer — friendly staff — along a canal — outdoor seating — server explain the different menu items to us when asking questions and with a huge smile — quick, food and beer came out quickly CONS: — beer selection is poor — food selection is kinda small

I’d like to rate these guys a 5 but it just doesn’t rate a 5 overall though the food is outstanding. I had a combination dinner that came with my choice of schnitzels of which there are ten kinds and a choice of wurst of which there are four kinds. In addition you get a choice of french fries, fried potatoes or potato salad and a small salad comes on the plate. I had the potato salad because I’ve had plenty of fries and a change was nice as was the potato salad. The fried potatoes were also nice as they were sliced potatoes, width wise, and then lightly fried. It’s a large meal. Surprisingly, I finished mine but I was stuffed, full, no longer able to eat another fork full. Top the whole thing with a nice beer, draft or bottled and you have one nice meal. It was a little pricier than expected. I’d still go back but ummm maybe order less.

Real German food in Dutch land? Yes, please! I had to escape from hot and humid Dar es Salaam and seek comfort in cold and lovely Amsterdam for Thanksgiving. My goal was to stuff myself, just as I would do if I am back home in the US. WuSH was part of the eating tour and it delivered on all counts. There are a variety of schnitzels and wursts on the menu. You can even do a combo of schnitzel and wurst. Since overeating is my mantra in life, I decided to go for the combo and order a bratwurst and Hollandschintzel. The bratwurst was thick and juicy(insert your favorite sausage sexual innuendo here) and perfectly pan fried. The Hollandschnitzel comes with a topping of Sate sauce and fried onions. The Sate sauce is similar to your Satay sauce with rich peanut flavor and the fried onions add a nice crunchy texture to the schnitzel. The meats are served with a choice of sides an salad — I opted for fried potatoes. The potatoes are pan fried and not greasy. Service deserves a special mention. The wait staff are attentive and friendly. The bartender and one of the waitresses chatted with me while I was waiting for my food and they seem to enjoy working here. Did I mention the fact that all the wait staff are very attractive? The most important thing to note about this place — besides the excellent food and service — is the abundance of hot men. It looks like a gathering spot for hot men(both German and others) in Amsterdam. I was here twice and every time it was a «sausage fest», with large groups of men enjoying food and beer. So, ladies and gentlemen, if you are looking for a good looking guy(or a few) this is the place to go! Now go get yourself some sausage… you know what I mean ;)

Our only good dinner in Amsterdam. We walked in for dinner and were seated immediately. Of course I explored the beer menu. Can’t exactly step into a German restaurant without sampling some beer, can you? The beer I wanted was out of stock but luckily my second choice wasn’t. It was a beer/lemonade combination that was absolutely amazing. Super refreshing. For my entrée, I had jagerschnitzel with fried onions. Cooked perfectly. It came with a side salad and super crispy fries.

—— Since last week Amsterdam’s horeca has got a new carnivore hotspot: Wurst & Schnitzelhaus, celebrating proper German food. Next to that the owners also promise to make a difference with a nice, quick and attentive service — which they proved when we were there. We, a group of Unilocalers, got to taste a varied selection from the menu and our concordant verdict is: the specialties are worth the guilty pleasure. The currywurst comes along with a sauce prepared after a top secret family recipe that’s been passed on for generations(OK maybe only between two generations). The schnitzels are prepared perfectly and then they’re topped off by hefty sauces upon choice like hollandaise(for maximum pleasure and calories go for the Kraftschnitzel with fried onions and cheese additionally — so good!), saté with roasted onions or mushroom cream sauce. The dishes are accompanied by french fries and salad or potatoe salad or sauerkraut. Of course they serve German beer but you can also top the fun with shots like Jägermeister, Apfelkorn or Flügel.
