Bleh. I think something changed at the Japanese eetcafé. None of the sushi we ordered looks like the previous pictures on Unilocal and even when I asked to try one of the pictures I saw he said they don’t make it like that anymore. I don’t know the whole story but it’s different. Just fair warning. That being said the sushi was still all right, but nothing out of this world. It was actually an interesting experience to sit outside eating our sushi in the alley instead of inside. Not many places where you can do that for sushi. The fish tasted fresh enough but slices were on the thin side for sure. Lucky for us the service was fast and he was always attentive of our needs. This was certainly a welcome treat. I can’t say to try it or not at this point. I think there are better places to go but this is one in the neighborhood anyway.

Although not particularly cheap and the annoying fact they don’t accept any cards, the sushi was good. You can eat here. It’s a small place that feels like a tourist trap in its location, but not bad value for money. Big slices of fish and quite fresh. Ambiance was a bit strange. Lots of light(too much) and yet decorated like a brown café. So didn’t feel authentic by any means. But the food was good. So I can recommend it. With a few adjustments this place could really be something. Like change the decoration and lighting to a more modern or authentic Japanese style and have the ability to accept cards. The two remaining stars could be right there for the taking. So, not bad really. But not awesome either. Remember to bring cash.

Vraiment sympa. Ce Resto né paie pas de mine, mais les sushis sont vraiment fins et plein de saveurs. Attention, ce Resto né prend que le liquide. Pas de cartes.

I live sort of around he corner for 6 months now, and am pretty addicted to their«special Roll ». A combination of my favorite sushi’s(ebi, unagi): a fried prawn(ebi) at the heart of the roll and topped with eel(unagi) and avocado. Can’t go wrong with this one ! ! I would advice you to order the«Special Roll ». Although the menu is small(sign of a good kitchen) and it is not the best sushi I’ve had, I’d prefer this place over any all you can eat Sushi places in Amsterdam.

I spent a Sunday by myself and had a serious sushi craving while in the center. While I was familiar with their next door neighbor, Gartine, I had never heard about Eeetcafe. The menu is pretty basic, but has all the basics plus some cool extras. While it is in the center, this is not a place for people watching or romantic ambience. Because its tucked away in an alley, if you sit outside, be prepared to share you sushi experience with lots of tourists. The prices are fair, especially since it’s so central and the quality was good. But I still felt like this was just OK.

Definitely a much better atmosphere and quality of sushi than other sushi places in this area. A great place for a romantic sushi dinner. Good service, worth the money. We will go again.

Not the best Sushi I ever ate, but a good one. Especially the fresh Wasabi is really good. And spicy. We went there for a little snack in the afternoon and chose a Maki mix. I maybe will give this venue a second chance and also try some of the other meals in the future.

Great sushi bar in Amsterdam. The place is small but worth trying out. We had dinner here because we were craving sushi. It’s my Dutchman’s favorite spot for sushi but for me I thought it was A-OK. Menu pretty simple and authentic for a Japanese restaurant. Some may find this place to be a hidden gem, but I will just let you be the judge of that one.
