An average Maoz, a little deserted because of street construction that almost hides the storefront from view. Inside, though, it’s clean and bright. The service is nice, although the manager seemed startled that anyone even noticed it was open. If you know Maoz from other cities, you will find essentially the same menu. The usual, all-you-can-pack-into-your-pita, salad bar was fresh and appealing, but there were fewer options than at Maoz locations in New York. Still, the felafel was crisp and perfectly made, and the frites were perhaps even better than in NY. A fine choice for vegetarians and those exhausted by the nearby Albert Cuyp market.

I stopped in here to grab a quick snack for lunch. I ordered the deep fried felafel balls, which are made from ground chick peas and served with a pitta bread pocket. I usually order it separate, since I am allergic to bread or gluten. The felafel balls are normally topped with several types of dressings and vegetables. Felafel sandwiches is a great substitute for meat. Healthy it is not but delicious and the best way to go if your trying to avoid meat. Service was friendly and excellent.
