Don’t believe the hype. I have been wanting to try Leonidas chocolate for the longest, so I decided to make it happen today. Despite Dutchman suggesting that the chocolate tasted weak. So, I finally decided to see for myself if the chocolate was more about the brand, rather than the quality. Low and behold Dutchman was partially correct. The chocolate was not horrible, but it was not delicious either. It was just mediocre. I felt it was one step away from basic, which meant just ok. The pro about Leonidas chocolate is that the price is very much reasonable, despite the brand being overrated.

A chocolate shop in the small shopping mall where Hema is located. There’s a nice selection of light and dark chocolates. You can mix up your choices for your order to get a sampling of their chocolates. When I was there the was a small fan blowing the aroma of the chocolates up to and beyond the counter. There are several Leonidas locations.

I’ve enjoyed a couple different flavors, but really, the plain milk chooclate is best in my opinion!

Leonidas is one of the reasons i got FAT when i moved to Holland.haha. Yes it’s that good. I love both the dark and milk chocolates and all the truffles are wonderful. Even the white chocolate is good there and i’m not a fan of white chocolate. Whenever i need to bring a gift to someone from the states i give them a box of Leonidas belgian chocolates. Even my Parisian brother in law is obsessed with Leonidas. I had spent a christmas in Paris with my sister’s husband’s french family and i brought them all Leonidas and they all had grins from ear to ear. they said they liked it even better than most french chocolates and they have very french Michelin type standards.
