My last full day in Amsterdam after a two week European vacation, and I happily stumbled upon this place while a friend stood in line for the Anne Frank House. Best latte I had in 2 weeks. No joke. So good, I dragged my husband over to try it himself. But I stole it and finished it off for him. Incredible.

I stumbled across Dialoog early(well around 10am) on a New Years morning on my way home after the festivities, offering me some sanctuary from the cold. For that I’m eternally grateful as everything else around me was closed(in fact in my time in Amsterdam I’ve found it’s frequently the only place open early-ish in the morning in that area). I was a bit dubious of the quality of the coffee, so close to the massive tourist attraction that is the Anne Frank House, but I had nothing to worry about, a very good roast in my latte(though I did ask for an extra shot) and you have the novel option of deciding between two espresso roasts. The food is quite good too, though I only tried simple fare like the poffertjes and a cream cheese bagel(available with lox too). My friends all had similar type fare, with no complaints, the natives commenting on how affordable this place was, especially considering its proximity to Anne Frank House. I’d recommend this place for a quick snack or breakfast if you happen to be in the area. Pros Good quality coffee(weak for my taste, but this is common throughout Amsterdam) Decent food Very affordable for its location and typical tourist clientele Quite nice relaxed atmosphere WiFi Cons Slow-ish service Limited seating and it gets quite full at times

My ham and cheese croissant was super greasyjust what I needed to help nurse my hangover! This café is a few doors down from the Anne Frank House and the perfect spot to grab a coffee and a pastry to go so you’ll have something to snack on while waiting in line.

This café is conveniently located next to Anne Frank’s House and is a great place to grab a coffee and a bit to eat. It also has wireless interent and spare computers in case you want to check your mail or plan the rest of your day in Amsterdam. The service is friendly and fast and a cup of their coffee with a plate of poffertjes(traditional Dutch pancakes with butter and sugar) are heaven on a cold or rainy day. Prices are reasonable too.
