Ganesha Indian

Although the food tasted pretty good, three out of nine in our party got violently ill after eating at this restaurant.

A large group of us ate at Ganesha, three of the group contracted food poisoning from the meal, the only common factor appears to have been that the three of us affected ate the side salad which was served, it appears that some cross contamination occurred in the kitchen. Sadly cannot recommend it on that basis alone, even though the service was great.

I love this place. I’ve eaten here about 6 time this far and each time the food has been amazing, the service is great (their staff is really friendly) and the atmosphere is warm and inviting.
It feels very much like a family owned restaurant where they are just happy to share their food with their guests. It’s really good Indian food with decent size portions… I always overeat there (which is not necessarily a bad thing… hehehehe).
I definitely recommend eating here if you want real Indian food with great service at a decent price.

Petit séjour avec mon frère à Amsterdam, nous avions envie de faire un dîner Indien. Suite à une ballade en vélo dans les rues de la Ville, cette enseigne nous a interpellé. Quelle surprise en dégustant ces plats, les deux curry (simple et Tika) ont été excellents. Pour deux bières, une eau plate, deux pains indiens et les deux currys nous en avons eu un pour 40 €. Le personnel est aussi très accueillants et nous avons eu droit à des «C’est bon ?, bon Appétit, Aurevoir».

Service was excellent from the minute I walked in the door. Clean small but comfortable restaurant. The butter nan bread was fresh and perfectly cooked. I ordered the lamb saag that is spinach based very similar to palak but a little spicier. I asked for medium spice and it was spectacular. The small side salad had a sweet hint to it and it complemented the spices very well. The rice was fluffy and warm when it arrived at the table.
I was alone but noticed that everyone seemed to be happy with their food orders. And, the family running the restaurant was super friendly and attentive.
The location is a little hidden but close to Central Station and a short walk across the canal bridge from the Double Tree.

Great food and friendly service in a homey neighborhood restaurant atmosphere. Our group really enjoyed our spread of chicken vindaloo, butter chicken, lamb madras and a Raja set menu choice. Naan bread was also very nasty.

We ate there yesterday and did not regret it at all. The waiters were very nice and polite, and the food was just delicious. Never before I ate such good Indian food, though I tried many different places. The meals are not over spiced and heavy as in other places. Great experience and definitely worth a visit!!! :)

Great food at a very affordable price!
Tried their takeout and got a soup, kebab, mixed meat and paneer masala for below € 20. A large bag of food and I couldn’t even eat it all (even though I don’t eat the rice).
The taste was superb and everything had an authentic feel to it. And the menu had basically only interesting dishes that I will be glad to try some other time. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the mood for some Indian cuisine.

Wunderbares Essen, nette Bedienung (besonders die junge Dame aus Katmandu), allerdings für ein indisches Restaurant ein recht hohes Preisniveau. Die typisch-​indische Do-​it-​yourself-​Einrichtung rechtfertigt die Preise jedenfalls nicht. Das Essen aber allemal!

Very friendly service and great food! We ate here twice recently, once dining in and once ordering take out — they have large portions, and out takeout was wrapped in a layer of plastic and a layer of tinfoil to keep it warm and neat.

Went with a few friends and all of us loved the food. Good flavor and taste.

Our visit to Europe would not have been the same without a good curry so we decided to try this place which was close our hotel. The décor was nice (better than most Indian restaurants) and the staff were friendly. Service was slow, although this being Amsterdam, nothing unusual. We both really enjoyed our vegetarian curries and portions were decent. The meal came with free side salads which I appreciated as a great way to clean off the palate. I highly recommend the large mango lassi — it tastes lovely and comes in a pint glass!
