Like most restaurants in Amsterdam we enjoyed everything we had. From the food to the service. Being from the US it took some adjustment to the service aspect of everything, but you won’t be disappointed.

Don’t ask me how we ended up at a restaurant with this name. Maybe we visited too many coffee shops that day. Maybe we thought it was somehow related to the Eat Me in Bangkok, which has rather good food. It’s supposedly French(fusion) food. There were a few French items on the menu. Anyways, my brolied fish was bland and on the cold side. It came with some mediocre, and equally bland roasted veggies. We enjoyed the bottle of Dutch wine. Service was slow, but friendly enough.

Totally overrated. We went there yesterday, because of the excellent reviews. We got a nice little table for two without reservation on a friday evening. The list of wines is good and the menu is promising also. So far so good. The floor is partly glass so you can see down into the kitchen. But: The kitchen wasn’t all that clean. You could see the cooks preparing fries in totally brownish boiling fat together with dozens of lost fries laying all over the working area. Hm. Not the kind of view that invites you to have fries. If you go down to the bathroom you stand right in the kitchen. No joke. This is on the one hand funny, but on the other hand pretty disgusting. My girlfriend had chicken with fries and stewed apples. Sounds like a funky combination. Indeed it was nothing more or less. I had a piece of meat(picanha). It was totally chewy. Uneatable. I got a complimentary desert that should make up for it, but it was greasy fried doughsticks in microwaved chocolate. The waitress was nice, but everything took too long. 15 minutes from beeing seated until she came for the first time to give us the menus. Starters about 25 minutes. Main course about another 40 minutes. When we got our main course the restaurant was already almost empty. No clue why it took so long. All in all a disapoointing experience.

Tried a fish dish and a carpaccio. Enjoyed the fish very much which came with nicely prepared veggies. The side salad is really reasonably priced and so much fancier than a US side salad with butter lettuce, pine nuts and vinaigrette. Wine by the bottle was also inexpensive for Amsterdam. Would definitely return if in the area. Only disappointments is they were out of octopus salad and baba au rhum dessert.
