Apart from the fact that here you, as a student, can practice anything from yoga to creative writing, these guys also serve food. Tasty food. Really tasty food.
Sandwiches (as far as I have noticed the Dutch people have really strong feelings for all King is sandwiches) are fresh and seem quite healthy (some king of whole grain bread or something like that). We also had vegetation corn soup. O would advice it, yam!

Nice and laid back. It’s technically a student bar but there are people of all ages and it’s a welcoming place.
That said, there’s definitely room for improvement on their beer pouring technique.

This is a sort of hipster/​student hangout, with loud trendy music and a pinball machine. The food is way too salty, and not very good. The nachos were especially bad, since they were 3 euros for a small bowl of nachos with a tiiiiny bit of cheese on them. Not my idea of nachos at all!
The coffee was decent. But one caveat is that when you order the coffee at the bar (since there are no waiters), you have to also stand at the bar until the coffee is ready so you can take it back with you. They will not bring the coffee to your table, even though they do bring food to your table. If you go back to your table without waiting the 5 minutes or whatever for them to make your coffee, they will passively-​aggressively leave the coffee on the bar to get cold, and then lecture you about the cold coffee when you come back 15 minutes later asking if your coffee is done yet.
Add on the fact that it’s hard to get to since it’s hidden away behind some buildings and a construction site waaay off a main street, and this place is hardly worth the effort to find. The only good thing about this place is the small square next to it, which has some benches and a nice view of the canal out front. It’s a peaceful place to sit and people watch.
