Coffeeshop Homegrown Fantasy

Though (apparently) this coffeeshop has closed down (due to the lease not being renewed), i feel the need to give it a full 5 star review.
As with everything organic, the quality is undoubtedly higher than average.
I do have to agree that the store was not flashy. But it was so worth checking out. The buds were delicious and strong. The staff was VERY knowledgeable and caring. The prices were within the ok range. AND, spending an hour sipping on tea, eating a «space cake» or smoking some good organic weed was so worth it.
had it been still open, I’d have recommended it over the more popular and historic BULLDOG…

It saddens me to hear this coffeeshop has closed… Homegrown Fantasy, Ahhhhh the memories and forgotten memories… Possibly the best Spacecake I’ve ever had in Amsterdam… They always had the most beautiful female budtenders, great selection of juices, and a relaxed local vibe… My last visit to Amsterdam I stayed in an Apartment right across from HGF, I visited daily for coffee and cake. I’m glad I have the memories, wait. What was I saying?

Stopped by real quick for a smoke one afternoon and caught a different vibe from all the other coffeeshops in the Centre. This place is less coffeeshop atmosphere, more café or restaurant feel to it. What I mean is though most coffeeshops are dim and are more occupied by younger adults. Homegrown Fantasy has a more mature clientele, adults, rather than college students. It’s bright in here, seldom scene for a coffeeshop. In addition to what most coffeeshops sell, they are more café oriented. People here are on their laptops, reading a paper or well smoking. With it’s light music in the background, it’s kind of less run of the mill dim lit and basic thrown out wooden or plastic chairs and tables just to smoke.
The décor is of nice tables and bar like seating. The staff was easy going and addressed my order pretty fast but allowed me time. I wish I spent more time here to give better details.

Im a northern california native. ‘nough said. Mine is way better. Amsterdam needs high quality. Coffeeshops are nice for an hour maybe, then go walk the city and see the museums and meet people. It took me this 3^rd trip through Amsterdam to realize yet again how lucky I am to be a Northern California Native son. I live in paradise.

Am not really «in the know» for the Amsterdam coffeeshop scene, but spent an hour or two here today and it is pretty cool! I was mostly here to work actually (finding nomad wifi spots in day so i can then chill out rest of the day).
1) really cool vibe, not cave-​like or too stoney
2) awesome music tunes playing
3) is well lit with the windows, so is kind of nice
4) wifi is fast enough, get mad stuff done today!
5) the items on the «menu» are quite good indeed I think, but just going on names at the moment
OK not much good info but will unplug now and check out the galleries/​funky lit bathroom before bouncing. :-)
