Café de Doffer

Great place to stop and quench your thirst while shopping the 9 Streets. The service was cheeky and attentive. Had some standard bar snacks, which were good.

This is another brown bar in the Negen Straatjes that is open late usually to 3 AM but an hour later on weekends til 4 AM. Hanging out drinking beer or wine, eating snacks or having a cocktail, this is a laid back place to do it. The crowd is mixed with locals and some tourists. They offer lunch and dinner if you get hungry while you’re chillin’. Your dog is welcome to hang out also. This is actually two bars right next to each other. You can rent out the other bar for private parties.

For years i thought the name was Den Doffer. Just a tad bit fancier than De Doffer, but come on… Who am I kidding, there is nothing… really nothing fancy about this place.
Three facts:
–They have TWO bars. One you can rent/​hire for private parties :) till… super late. That same bar has a night licence… till super late.
–They have a kitchen. It’s not expansive, it’s warm and it’s fast, and they have different beers on tap. (I like the place to much to write about the food… sorry)
— They air the big football games. It’s nice! And I don’t even really like football that much!
What is the Doffer? Translated from old Dutch it’s The Cock.

I like it. I had a dog, I like buying interesting faces a drink, I like losing time.
