In love with this place! Located in the Pijp, near to the famous Albert cuyp market and a lot of cute stores. Great interior, personnel and vibe. Love their home made pies and coffee. One of Amsterdam’s best places to have breakfast(or brunch). Products are mostly bio. Yum!

Walking in I immediately love this place. Awesome lay out, cosy little nooks to casually catch up with your friend over a coffee while sprawled across lounge pillows as well as hip tables to set up your office for the day. Bonus: several floors that require stair access so all the moms with strollers stay downstairs. I am blown away by the menu which has tons of yummy healthy options and I can barely choose what to order! But sadly once sat down in the pillows it turns out they are not as soft as they look and I’m basically sat on a wooden plank while the pillow sticks out both sides of my bum. The fresh juice I ordered is 75% foam, the mackerel sandwich is ‘ok’. I came back a few days later because I want to give it another shot and I wanted to try other things on the menu. There were no tables free so I scooted in at a table already occupied by two friends but they were happy enough for me to join. I ordered the pancakes, which were tiny and very dry. I asked for extra fruit, which they did bring but didn’t do much for the dryness. I wish the quality of the food and beverages was better, I really want to love this place but for now this bubble has burst for me and I will not be back any time soon.

This former cinema(Ceintuur Theater(CT)) currently holds a restaurant for breakfast, lunch and diner. I really love this place. The entourage is just marvellous. They transformed this old cinema in a restaurant with different levels. From bar, tables to lounge. The tables that are attached with robes on 1 side to the ceiling … wouw ! A simple menu but with some high prices(especially coffee) some food prices too, some are low. It’s a strange combination :-). The food is oké but the salads could be a bit better. Some more ingredients for those prices. Breakfast also not the cheapest in town but that’s excellent. And like I said. the place itself is stunning. The coffee is terrible, so much acid taste … especially with the espresso … Good atmosphere though, really nice place, good staff(walking those stairs every time getting a free exercise at the same time :-)). Menu could be a bit better but there are also some really nice items on it. The Hummus is oké but lacked a bit of flavor. Crab cakes are lovely. And I think the menu on the website is not always updated to the lastest one. But … go there. You’ll love the place. Food taste is as always … personal :-)

Great atmosphere and fun food! They have a huge selection of food and drinks and I loved it all. I had a watermelon juice and then split some small plates with my friend. We had a hummus plate, a sweet potato curry, and a fresh Lebanese salad. It was all fantastic. Prices are kind of high but it’s worth it to enjoy such a great atmosphere and sit on bean bags surrounded by plants!

Went for the brunch on Sunday morning. Arrived around 11 am… wow how busy is this place! I got one of the last tables and just sat for a moment looking around while waiting for my friend. This place is booming with ppl, music, etc. It is really cool atmosphere. Let’s talk about food. I got some scrambled eggs with avocado and feta… they were really good and the portion! I guess I got 5 — 6 eggs on those two pieces of bread… way too much for my appetite. My friend went with all in breakfast, which was relatively small taking into consideration that you get to try all. We also had some juices — watermelon and coconut, mango, banana.etc.they were very good. The only thing that was disappointing was the coffee. I had a cappuccino and it was okeish. nothing special and not so good coffee… The service was great!

It all starts from the building! It’s amazing! It’s s rebuilt cinema/theater(i am sorry, I didn’t do my homework on this subject well enough, but it’s amazing anyway). It is very spacious! Bridget! Many comfortable spots and on the top floor you can lay in «fat boy» huge pillows! Menu is interesting! Many dishes are quite special and mostly light in terms of not stuffing you too much. Many organic dishes if you are into those;)

Wonderful find in the canal city. This is a 3.5 story café with great menu, which changes often. Eat here for breakfast if you are in the city. Prices are moderate and customer service is done well. Portions are small for an American stomach.

I am so torn about this place. On the one hand, the concept and ambiance deserves ten stars: it’s the only place I can think of in Amsterdam that has that«American coffeehouse» vibe, where you’re welcome to come and work on your computer AFTER six o’clock at night, WITH lightning-fast wifi, with plenty of lovely relaxed seating, and drinkable coffee. On the other hand, their food is so disappointing. I’ve only had the breakfast food and a nicoise salad, but based on those two experiences I don’t want to eat there again. It looks beautiful but it tastes completely bland, to the point where I had to practically force myself to eat it(which never happens, I love most food). Also they claim to have all-day breakfast but it’s actually only served until 17:30, after which you’re limited to salads, snacks and 20 euro entrees. Also, just like every other brunch place in Amsterdam, there is a long line-up for seating around Sunday brunch-time. So I will keep coming here to work and sneak in my own snacks, just like at the movie theater ;)

This is a unique space with fresh food and juices. The Acari bowel is chocked full of nuts, blueberries and banana chips. The coffee is good. There is free wifi. There are waiters and waitresses that actually seem like they want to take your order and care if you liked it. Staff is friendly and helpful. This may not be anything new for Americans but for Amsterdam it’s part of a new attitude I’m seeing at establishments run by younger people. C. T is definitely hip but not snobby. The emphasis is on fresh food that’s tasty. There are plenty of comfortable seats but it can get crowded. This is a good place to take a friend or hang out solo.

I have to say that I am crazy in love with this place. I just cannot get enough of it I love the industrial look, the huge space, their friendly service and their menu. I think it’s the first 5 stars I give to any place since I started reviewing in Unilocal. So, this former cinema it is now a huge café split in 3 different levels, with all sorts of areas to sit in from your standard table, to sofas and also lazy boys. Their beer menu is composed entirely by local brews of the famous Oedipus. Aside from that they also have juices, homemade coolers and the usual coffee&te. This time I had the baked cod with vegetables and was excellent. Don’t heists to visit this place while you tour around the pijp!

I jumped on the bandwagon to see what all the fuss was about… and I am glad I did! First of all, this place is HUGE! Lots of room with different types of seating so you can choose depending on your mood. The service is very nice, but not overly so. Remember to just put up your hand to get a server’s attention if you’d like something after your initial order. And they are happy to serve you. I got a the watermelon juice/smoothie. Very tasty! My only critique is that the mint overpowered the watermelon, but is was a good-for-you drink and I was happy with it. I also had the chocolate and banana buckwheat porridge. I was shocked at how tasty this was! I want to go back just for the porridge! Great brunch spot if you are looking for one!

I’m a big fan of this amazing space! The service is great, the food is wonderful and it’s reasonably priced for a bite, or a drink! Bonus points for all the awesome artwork on the wall(all of which I think you can buy. if you had a spare few hundred €€€!!!). As grand(hipster, yuppie, etc) as it looks, both from outside and in, it still feels very casual and relaxed on the inside. Now the things I recommend, obviously the Harry Nilsson(a fresh coconut with the top half off and an ode to their namesake and his 70s track, «she put the lime in the coconut.») which they serve to you with a wedge of lime and a spoon so you can scrape out the insides after you’re done. And of course, the cocoa buzz. I’ve never felt healthier chugging this chocolatey delight! Other worthy mentions, their smoked mackerel gado-gado and basic but absolutely delicious scrambled eggs avocado dish! Needless to say, these guys have covered it all. So whether you’re in the mood for a casual catch-up, quick breakfast bite or a long afternoon of chatting and drinking, this spot is perfect!

I really, really, really like this place. Seriously, it’s the incarnation of all the good you want in a café. The design. Sure, it’s always a question of taste, but they objectively succeeded at giving this place a very distinct character. It’s all hispter-cool-nature-spacious-light-wood-rope-surf kinda atmosphere. Several storeys with big tables, small tables, coffee tables, bar tables, big cushions. The food and drinks. For breakfast, lunch, or even dinner, you can get very, very nice food. Everything I tried there was delicious: pain au chocolat, granola bowl(really a must here!), pumpkin soup, gado-gado. Coffee and tea are good — rare enough to be mentioned! They also have nice juice fruits. Prices are very reasonable. The service. I find it very nice, but a bit sloppy. A good example is that time when I ordered a soup and it came about an hour later. I was working on my laptop so I didn’t really mind, but still, seriously: one hour?!? They were extremely sorry and took it out of my bill at the end. I think that was a very professional way to deal with it, and I really appreciate that, but this shouldn’t have happened in the first place. Other. The wifi is good and fast and free :) On weekends, it gets extremely busy… It’s my new favorite in the neighborhood! I love to come here to work on weekdays.

Really great spot. Very NYC industrial hipster space. We arrived in between meal times so only«bites» we’re avail but the edamame soaked in a teriyaki sauce(the same they use on unagi) were delicious. We devoured them. The quesadilla was small but delicious, the cheese platter(also small) with fig compote and nut bread was so yummy and the meatballs… Excellent. There is only beer and wine served here but the selections were really nice. Mainly Thai or Asian assortments. As the evening grew later the place became darker and music a bit louder but still very chill. Large bean bags upstairs are great for lounging and the communal tables downstairs are excellent for mingling, meeting or networking.
