Nice relaxed atmosphere, good Italian food(I had the calzone and bread with garlic butter), good service, pretty quick, but no rush. Beer selection was limited. Cappuccino came from a machine, but was OK.

Even though it’s in a rather busy tourist area, it’s really good pizza and the best I’ve had Amsterdam so far. Also I’ve always had attentive, quick service. Lots of outdoor seating and the prime location means you can also sit and people watch with a few beers after you finish eating.

I didn’t expect much at first as it’s located in touristic area. After a bite of Calamari Fritti, it’s beyond expectation. Our two young kids(2 and 5 years old) loved it. Prosciutto pizza was great. Service in general is also fine. I would recommend this place.

This is a nice little place just off Leidesplein. I had Spaghetti Bolognaise & a bowl of creamy tomato soup. The soup tastes exactly like Campbell’s out of a can, but I personally like Campbell’s Soup so that is okay… nothing special though. The Spaghetti was pretty good, but lacking in much of a spice palette… again, nothing that special. I would give the food a three, but overall I am going four. The staff is very attentive, very friendly, & overall I enjoyed the restaurant’s ambiance.

We also picked this place because we were staying at a hostel near the restaurant, and they were the only one’s who weren’t all over us trying to get us to go into their restaurant. All the other restaurants had waiters in the streets harassing you, super obnoxious. We were quickly seated outside, which was great, and placed orders. We both got the spaghetti carbonara, which is my all-time favorite pasta dish. Somehow this little Italian restaurant in the middle of Amsterdam provided me with the best carbonara I’ve ever had. After Amsterdam we went to Italy and I ordered carbonara in every restaurant we went to in Rome and none of them lived up to this pasta at all. So random, but so good!

Tasteful food, good location and nice service. Great for having lunch outside on a sunny day.

We picked this place principally because it was one of the few places on the street not to have someone outside ushering(hassling) you inside. I don’t appreciate the hustle and go out of my way to avoid places that swear by it! Had to make do with large Heinekens as there was nothing particularly interesting to drink, but I’d kind of expect that everywhere. The daddy for me here was the selection of Italian Starters. Credit to my friend as I’m generally more precise than that in my ordering. This plate came full of hams, breads, tomatoes and mozzarella! It was all great and decent value too. My main, the pepperoni pizza. my stock order… was decent, but the starter was the best bit! Friendly service. Don’t underate that!

Are you hungry? Do you want a quick and cheap meal? Are you cold/avoiding rain outside? If the answers are mostly ‘yes’, don’t waste your time and get yourself a table inside. There is not much to write about pizza options in the Leidseplein area. Heck, it might just win an entry in the Guinness Book for the highest concentration of pizza joints in any city in the world. What matters here is the speed of execution of your order, comfortable, and a little bit of ambience. If you’re in Leidseplein and expect any more, you’re not attuned to the ways of the globetrotter and hence need to travel more! I ordered a regular mozzarella pizza with a couple extra toppings, and it was well executed. The staff works almost like a robot — drinks, appetizers, main course, more drinks. My pizza was delicious, baked just right, and the Coke was at the right temperature. Pretty hard to get any of that wrong, unless you’re a 1-star restaurant, which Antonio’s is not.

We went here one night for pizza. Now as many of you know, I am a pizza snob. I travel the world stuffing my face with my favorite food to see where in deed the best tasting food lies… The good ~The pizza was ok for a 10pm/11pm dinner ~The price was pretty reasonable, pizza, drinks, calzone for 3 peeps roughly 50 euro ~The staff was incredibly nice. A friend of ours was feeling ill, and the wait staff was very helpful ~You can watch the pizza maker rolling out the dough, kneading the pizza dough, it was pretty neat to sit there, chat with friends and watch our pizza being created for our consumption What could be better… ~Honestly the food was nothing to write home about. The prices are great and the staff friendly… if you need to grab some ok tasting food late at night this is a good place to go!
