I used to always come here for their okonomiyaki but the last time I went there the servers completely ignored us. It was so bad that I even had to wave my hand to get their attention. One server even saw me raising my hand but just looked at me and turned the other way. Food took more than 45 minutes to come and it took an additional 20 minutes just to receive our bill. Great food, customer service sucks.

My boyfriend and I come here a lot and each visit is never a disappointment. Love their sushi and rice bowls.

The more we ate, the more disappointed we were. Never again. I don’t like wasting food but.. it looks like we are going to have to throw this out.

Coming from San Diego. This place is a very decent sushi joint. My family comes here when my wife wants curry, I want sushi, and my son wants noodles. The ramen was good, compared to the other ramens I ate on the island. The sushi is a whole lot better than the rotary sushi I went(which I will not disclose the name of that establishment). But the service is not there. They took quite some time to take our orders. Food was somewhat late. You can’t have the best of both worlds here. So if you are willing to sacrifice service for great food. Then this is the place.

First of all, parking is nearly impossible to find during lunch hour on weekdays since it’s shared with other restaurants and businesses. Also, the spaces are so narrow that people are constantly double parking. For affordable cockroach-free Japanese food, you can get better service and quality at Sakura’s Kitchen which is less than 5 minutes away. I’ve eaten at Benii’s several times trying to give them a chance but they continue to disappoint me every visit. The servers aren’t very friendly and feel as if I’m being rushed. However they have so many items on the menu and less pictures to help you decide. Service speed is a hit or miss. Had to wait an hour for yakisoba. When I asked to cancel my order, they gave me attitude and said they’ve already made it and then waited another 10 min to have it on my table. I’ve also ordered sushi, and the pieces are quite tiny, basic and fall apart easily. You can get better affordable sushi elsewhere on island. On my last visit, my friend had asked for a refill on his water. Not only did he have to wait for the servers to finish chatting, but we both saw the waitress pour a USED glass of water into his cup before returning it to him. Maybe the server was too focused on her conversation, because she didn’t use the water pitcher that was right in front of her. Didn’t bother making a complaint, who knows what they will do to our food behind those walls. Maybe they’ll throw the roaches other customers found into our food. We’re just never going back.

I used to go here, but unfortunately their service is terrible and they don’t care much for cockroaches crawling out of your food. No lie, this actually happened, and the waitress shrugged it off. Never been back.

Faux japanese restaurant. Meaning not authentic, probably Korean owned, because the flavors suggest that it is. Big food, low quality, awful flavor. Also dirty, tables were sticky and floors were greasy.

Wow… this place probably ruined me for ever getting yakisoba anywhere else. This is what it’s supposed to be like! Hot, flavorful, lots of veggies, and nice fried stuff on top. The California Crunch sushi roll was good, but in truth between that and the yakisoba I got way too much food. Big portions.

Nice family restaurant. Prices are decent and parking is ample. If you want to get your Japanese fix without spending a lot of money for above average quality, Benii would be a good choice. Omakase sushi — For $ 28 I got Nigiri Maguro, Hamachi, Unagi, Sake, Ama Ebi, Saba, Tai, Tamago and Hotate. And I thought I was going to get a California Roll, but they gave me a huge California Maki instead. This could actually feed two people. Deep Fried Tofu — I thought this was going be served on a plate with daikon and a shoyu based sauce. Instead, it came in a bowl. I discoverd that the tofu was sitting at the bottom of a sauce fill bowl with just the daikon breaking through at the top. I was kinda disappointed until I ate my first piece. Wow. It was really good. I could have just ordered this with a bowl of rice and I would have been happy.

More bang for the buck compared to other Japanese restaurants on island. They also have twice as many food items, which is good if you’re dining in, but not so if you’re on the go(they don’t even have a take-out menu). Shrimp tempura roll seemed fresh, but the hamachi kama was flaky and hard, indicating that it may have been nuked(microwaved) rather than grilled.
