Though rather run down and worn, this hotel right by the train station has very friendly staff and intriguing décor(jewel-toned textile wall coverings, heavy velvet drapes, heavy wooden furniture, 70s Bakelite-esque bathroom fixtures), now faded and frayed. If you enjoy quirky spaces and don’t mind scruffy carpets, you may like it. Anyway, the beds are comfortable and the other nearby hotels are either pricier or horrible we tried them first so if you need to stay by the station, this is your best bet.
