St-Alexandre-Cathedral

a beautiful russian orthodox cathdral with five golden domes. There is a large russian community in Paris which use this often. Designed by St Petersburg fine arts academy it was built in 1861. Inside there is a wall of icons which divides the church. The russian community in Paris increased during the Russian revoloution and the area around the cathedral is known as ‘little russia’.There are many tea shops and bookshops. A lovely area
