Excellent hotel my husband has been here over a week and I’ve joined during that time– great business/pleasure hotel. The concierge and staff are so incredibly friendly and make you feel welcome. Rooms are clean and modern and location is perfect– away from the touristy noisy bustle but close enough to everything via walking or the metro which is right across the streets. It is on the same metro(no transfer) direct to Versailles or to Notre Dame Cathedral. Great dining and boulangerie and patisseries abound around the reasonably priced hotel. Lucky that it was very near my husband’s Paris business location at EutelSat.

Very comfortable hotel in the 15th arrondissement, about 15-minute walk from the Eiffel Tower. We got a great deal using one of those discount travel websites and were really happy about how convenient the hotel was to several public transportation stops(for both the metro and RER). We arrived on a Thursday afternoon in mid-December to a very sweet woman at the front desk. After having stayed with my cousin in her studio in the 5th arrondissement for a week years ago, I was prepared to see tiny quarters but was surprised at how spacious the room was. Now, for the Americans reading, don’t get the idea that the room was sprawling, however, it was well-arranged with a queen-sized bed, some sleek furniture, and a flat-screen TV on the wall. In addition to this, the toilet was in a separate room right by the door and the sink and shower were closer to the sleeping area(with a curtain that could be pulled across for added privacy). It seems that this custom of having the toilet separate from the sink and bathing space is common in France, as I encountered it in many homes that I visited. This may throw off those of us accustomed to having at least a sink nearby after we’ve completed doing number 1 or 2, so just be prepared and don’t freak out. The bed was quite comfortable and in our room, it was right next to the window, which faced the courtyard(thus, not giving us a grand view of the city of Paris). The curtains were perfect, as they completely blocked out sunlight. So much so that after a direct flight from Atlanta, an hour-plus ride on SuperShuttle to the hotel, checking in, napping for just a bit, and exploring the city, reaching the Christmas markets at Tour Eiffel, we slept for 14 hours! Yeah, what the hell. With the curtains drawn, zero sunlight streamed into the room and I woke up with a jump and fumbled about in the darkness for my phone. Welp, if that didn’t cure jet lag and pure fatigue, I don’t know what else could have. Besides being quite close to the famous iron lattice tower also used to stream communications signals, within as little as 2 – 3 minutes, I found little markets, bakeries, shops, pharmacies(yes, I had to make use of these SEVERAL times and I could have let these experiences ruined my vacation but I didn’t. So there. :P), and restaurants. Having to take the TGV to Saint-Nazaire, I even found an SNCF office close by to buy tickets in advance. Being close to the Seine, staying here is an ideal location to visit many places on foot or using the Paris Métro or RER. No microwave or fridge, so don’t think about lugging back leftovers to your room. Besides, the Parisian waitstaff will probably look down on you if you request a doggie bag, so leave you Stateside tendency to «get your money’s worth» at the door of all eating establishments. Anyway, if you can find a good deal to stay at the Mercure Paris Plaza Pont Mirabeau Hotel, I would highly recommend it for the friendly and attentive staff, the comfortable accommodations, the relative safety of the neighborhood, and the proximity to tourist attractions and places of entertainment.
