The is by far the worst restaurant I have been to in my life. The service was not just bad, but out right insulting. I don’t know if the waiter was having a bad day, but regardless a customer should not be treated so horribly. After I asked to be seated, my server tried to force me to leave by yelling«go» because I didn’t want the type of water he brought to my table. I explained that I simply wanted another type and then he began to apologize profusely, but seriously what a way to treat a customer. I put his behavior behind me and ordered my food. The duck they brought out was the toughest piece of meat I have ever had. The only part of the meal that was able to be eaten was the potatoes and they were not good. I really should have left after the waiters poor behavior, but I know that a servers behavior doesn’t necessarily reflect the food quality. But beside from the poor service, I have never had such a nasty piece of meat in my life. Duck is my favorite dish in France and I have tried it in many restaurants. They couldn’t have paid me to eat that duck. I ate my potatoes and had to ask for my check 3 times and they still didn’t bring it to me. Never was I rude to the waiter. I believe he was embarrassed by his earlier outburst and wanted to hide from me. I had to go and stand by the cash register in order to be able to pay and leave. I really can’t understand how this restaurant has any returning customers or if it is simply a tourist trap as it is located by the train station. I am a young woman and I never make any special requests to my food, I take it as they prepare it. In this instance I was alone reading a book while having my meal. I will never return to this restaurant and hope that others don’t fall into this trap as I did.

I first found this place in May 2011. I needed a place to rest and eat while waiting for a friend to pick me up from the Gare du Lyon train station. My service was quite a bit better then the previous reviewer, but maybe that is because I was served by the owners Frederique and Joel. In fact, the service was so good, they picked up my tab! I only ordered a glass of champagne and french fries(which were both very good), but when I return this May 2012, I will definitely order a full meal and let you know how it is.

it’s great that this place is so close to the station(gare du lyon) and also next to a bnp paribas atm(no transaction fee for bank of america users). the food here is good– classic savoie french. unfortunately the service is stereotypically french. dinner took 4 hours. the waiter seemed like he didn’t want to be there. we heard from another of the waitstaff that he had worked a 12 hour shift because someone had called in sick. i ordered the raclette — a hot plate where you toast your own crackers, cheeses, and various charcuterie. it was more than enough for one person. at about 18 euros it was a pretty decent price for what we’d been finding. i also tried my wife’s duck cassoulet. it was delicious. duck confit, with pork bits(possibly confit as well?) with beans. it was the perfect hearty dish to end a long day. we ordered a chocolate crêpe for dessert, but the order never showed up after waiting for more than 45 minutes. we hadn’t seen our waiter in a while and after asking around found out he had left for the night. haha. when you’re done you’re done. the food was good and authentic. the service, unfortunately, is also quite authentic.
