This was the best meal I had in Paris stay. The french meals were so bland and I was only eating the pastries(they seem to be really good at those). However, I had stumbled upon the owner earlier in the evening as I was taking a walk and she had asked me if I needed help finding a place even though she didn’t know me. I was fine so I said thank you. On my way back several hours later, I decided I was hungry and some Senegalese food would do me good! I was right! The restaurant is a little hole in the wall located in a boisterous neighborhood, definitely felt like home to me when I walked in although I am Nigerian; the meals are also well priced and the portions are a good size. Not your typical overpriced under portioned tourist meal. Totally worth checking out.

Khalkom is a little hole in the wall restaurant just like the ones you’ll find all over Africa. Nestled in a nice mixed neighborhood off the Couronne metro stop, it’s a good place to get your fix of yassa poulet or poisson(deep fried chicken without batter, soaked in a sauce of oniony/citrusy goodness). Some African beers but not enough. African pop music on the radio and African TV on the television. Worth a stop whether you have never had Senegalese food or you miss it like an old friend.

Well this was a gem. We had been in Paris for 2 weeks and honestly I could not eat another rich French meal. We were just walking around and stumbled on this place. We have never had Senegalese food so we decided why not! Glad we did!!! This place serves delicious food. And filling so bring an appetite. The chicken dishes are all so flavorful. We had the plantains as our starter(must order). When we were done we thought this was one of the best meals we had here. A winner. Oh and the menus are in English and the owners are very nice. Good place for kids too. We had our 3 and 7 yo with us and they ate it all. It is not spicy food just very flavorful. Perfect for kids. Not touristy.
