Good food, seemed authentic and cute compared to crowded surroundings. Would recommend

Les prix sont accessibles, mais la qualité des mets ainsi que la présentation est un petit niveau au dessus des amentours. Un saumon top, des choix de vins premiers prix et plus exigeants. Je recommande vivement.

I happened upon this place when I was about to collapse, I’d walked about 8 miles and was beat. The woman helping was great, very busy, but warmer than most French help I encountered at first meet. The risotto was meh. 3 out of 5 stars, The wine was nothing special to behold and the ambience was hyper French, which was nice. Over all, I felt out of place, like a nuisance, and generally uncomfortable here, but then again I did in must French restaurants. Basic joint, nothing special, and the food was mediocre. Lastly, their Wi-Fi doesn’t work on American phones. It’s best to have a back up way to communicate.

We walked past L’Acanthe several times having stayed in an apartment on the corner of Saint-Martin and Rue de Rivoli. It’s a busy but lovely little street near the Saint Jacques Tower, between the Chatelet and Hotel De Ville metro stations. Empty when we arrived(but we never could get the hang of Parisian eating times), we grabbed a table outside on the street. The interior looked rather seductive and would have been a good option too. Hostess was lovely and put up with(even engaged in) our admittedly poor French language skills. I had the steak frites… really amazing frites. The steak was cooked perfectly to order, but I should have known better on the Parisian beef. It was good, just not what I was expecting. Wife has mushroom risotto. She is a big risotto fan, and this was a top three meal for her during our two week trip. That good. Prices were typical for lower arrondissement Paris. If in the neighborhood again someday, we’ll be back.

This is one of those hole in the wall places nothing fancy from the outside and some miracles in the kitchen. We had to do a quick brake on the way back from Notre Dame de Paris and we stumbled upon this place. Every dish we’ve tried was cooked to perfection. Try their Burgundy Escargots.

This is a quaint restaurant with an inviting yellow and white striped awning. My friend and I sat outside to take advantage of the sunny day. It was a bit noisy(mopeds vroomed through a few times too many), but a good corner to people watch. The place was pretty busy but the service was still attentive. I had the plat du jour which was chicken with some sort of flakey carrot and zucchini pastry. Was good! My friend had the foie gras salad, which I had a bite of and personally preferred it to mine(I considered trying to convince her that I was the one who’d ordered the salad, but she was especially alert that day so it would’ve been impossible). Aaaand of course I couldn’t pass up the Nutella mi-cuit. I pretty much inhaled it. Enough said.

Dommage…
